Paladin and priest card draw

You definitely don’t want to give more draw to Paladin. Priest maybe, but definitely not Paladin.

In exchange, these 2 classes always gets the perfect draw

You have to look on other places, than HSreplay with bronze-golden to see, that in diamond-legend Priest peaks at T3, but mostly is in T4.

Yeah but there are still people having great success with priest, my point is that people are looking at the overall average of a priest, not what the top players are achieving. I wouldn’t recommend crafting into priest if you can’t seem to make it work out for you, for instance I crafted a few priest epics a few years back to try make a deck then I saw the class downward trending in power level expansion by expansion so I haven’t touched it since and it’s a very expensive class to get going outside of big priest/aggro in wild which to be fair I don’t think any priest players want to be playing those decks.

I gave a retry to wild quest priest the other day messing with Reno and all the wild packages and the fact the deck still doesn’t count 5, 6, and 7, and 8 drops played retroactively irks me even when you try to curve out as smooth as possible and draw 2, 3, 5, 3, 8, 7, 6. Over the next several turns and you’re missing a four drop. So you’re stuck either playing a 7 drop that won’t count for quest progress because despite having 5-7x copies of a X mana card, you’ll nearly always get 7/8 cards and have one missing hole that forces you to stop playing off curve with 5 drops and 6 drops on turn 5 and 6 just because you missed a turn.

So you re Mulligan and your next game, exact same deck, you mulligans up hard to have a 2, 3, 4 hand… and… Oops… All 2 and 4 cost cards or you miss a two drop.

Imo making priest quest at least count played 5/6 and 7/8 cards count retroactively is awful. It’s a awful Insta kill that’s a paper tiger that barely even works with curves. 70% of my wild kills are a dragon queen alexstraza killing people on turn 9, 5 turns before the quest ever goes active. Its 41 + 10 mana of investment over 8 sequenced picky cards that can only use 1/8th your deck for a kill when 50% wr otk combos usually work easier with less gimmicks and otk fully at 7-8.

At first I was worried but I mean there’s no deck that exists it’s holding back. I really feel like letting quest priest count retroactively would still leave it competively a dumpster but at least make the gameplay less antifun for a off meta deck. Making the deck need 7 different costed cards played once makes it incredibly inconsistent when it already sucks, but at least making quest remember 5, 6, and 7, 8 cards retroactively could go a long way. What on earth is it going to oppress. 5 turn afk players? I already got the grind pack legend, but quest priest doesn’t even feel good to play for casual and seems so low potential in practice.

I’m really considering abandoning it entirely and messing around to see if a shadow Raza with hp doublers could ever work just as a novelty variety casual deck to play for homebrewed fun from this stale meta and meta deck fatigue.

The 1 mana 2/5 taunt is more impact than this quest will ever be in wild currently imo. It’s more or less the competitive nature but even off meta, it’d feel a lot better to play as a meme deck if your quest had “played 3 cards between 2-4 mana”, “played 5, 6 mana”, and " played 7,8 mana" on it.

That and maybe a actual voiceline animation for the shard like Xyrella yelling “The shard shall purify you!!!” Or “Impossible, someone managed to play 51-56 mana worth of cards without achieving easier 30 damage lethal? Go poof silently into the air” would be neat.

I get it’s a meme card but memes at least should be fun. It’s neither sastifying to play as, or against with the frustration mechanics.

You put 7x 2 drops, 6x 3 drops, 5x 4 drops, 4x 5 drops, 3x 6 drops, 2x 7 drops, and 1-2x 8 drops, and 1x quest. and that’s 29-30/30 of your cards right there and one of the more consistent curves with discovers to hit 7/8 of the cards but you’re always missing one each game mulligan 60% of the time.

People go “just add more x drops” but you’re literally already at 29-30/30. I’ve taken homebrew raza and self tweaks of decks to legend and steamrolled many mirrors with 80% mirror wr vs 50% avg ease before. I can win with decks with potential, quest priest just is low potential and doesn’t have the draw to support consistently curving into 8 unique played once cards, while the quest punishes any attempts at playing duplicates.

It wouldn’t make it competitive I don’t think, but reworking the quest to be more flexible on drops and pigeonhole it less into aoeing it’s own board to fulfill a quest condition or ignoring quest to play a 7 drop on curve to ignore a missing 6 mana card requirement and miss both credit just feels raw game design.

It feels a bit like a first draft version with Many obvious problems seen within just a few plays of the deck. But memes should at least feel fun to play, At least in casual and not work against themselves, right?

Might as well give it a shot.

Priest isn’t popular but a quest priest counting 5_ 6 and 7,8 drops retroactively or loosening a bit of the hard requirements (people will naturally want to play on curve anyways) should help.

The deck is performance lacking, but it could make it more fun to play and create less wtf moments watching priests have to consider playing a 8 drop on curve that won’t count towards a 5,6 step or aoeing their own board to get card credit because you need aoe for aggro. Just making it a fun meme deck for casual and count previously played 5,6, 7,8 costs retroactively on future steps would do tons for it in improving meme gameplay imo like the wildfire varden buff. Not intended to make the deck competitive, but just more enjoyable and fun to play even if tier 4 or tier 5 lmao.

Only way priest is going to start winning games is soon as they have the ability to spam minions across the board turn after turn same as all the other classes.

Can’t wait for priests 1 mana draw 4 to be something like " 1 mana, draw 4 cards. Give them to your opponent and discard your own entire deck" quality at this point.

Seems about priest quality at this point, though some of the new minions have been decent.

Just not close enough to critical mass yet to make a lot of decent archetypes perform well enough yet though. Maybe someday.

Because the games has 10 different classes.

I’m using DW because I like the portrait. I don’t play warrior too often. Unless I’m playing duels.

I’m not entirely sure the quest priest is unplayable personally though it isn’t exactly top tiered, I know I’ve seen some high legend streamers post they are getting like 7 wins - 0 losses and stuff in wild - high legend with reno priest so that is still playable, maybe it is better higher up because more people are playing shudderwock reno shamans, is a bit slower and priest has tools to shut down big minions.
