I still hate hunters more, because they’re more efficient and you face much more of them than you do Paladins.
But man. From Baku Paladin, to Fourse Horsemen, to Shirvallah OTK, to Quest Paladin with mass 8/8 egg cloning…
Every Paladin deck seems more annoying and stressful to face than the last.
the only broken cards in paladin class are time stop and those stupid combos from prismatic lens, besides that, the class is quite ok, my only complain is taht the paladin quest completes itself way too fast.
I do agree, and its even more frustrating when you know you have one or two cards in your deck that make them auto lose. Specially with their quest deck; it ain’t great but if they draw their reborns quick you’re done-zo. And the coin flip of the murloc deck is eye rolley as hell. BUT, you’re forgetting that paladin also has one of the funnest to play midrange packages around, and the DUEL archetype is hilarious.
I’m with you on the hunter hate. At least folks playing face-style paladin decks (secret, murloc, some quest, some highlander) know their decks are good, have good matchups, or have overtuned cards. Get a hunter to admit any card in their deck is powerful. “Its really not that good” should be Rexxar’s greeting.
Lol, if you think I’m playing against any paladin in the month of October you’re insane. I remember Mysterious Challenger. And I just faced, in casual, a full aggro secret paladin (Dread Corsair with True Silver to face, wtf); they’re already stupidly unfun to play against. Nah, they’ll be lucky I auto concede. If there’s enough of em I’m just gonna leave the client on and go do something else for a whlie.
Paladin has always been aggressive with retarded combos, but the annoying decks really go to Mage. Secret Mage, Flame Wanker Mage, Exodia Mage, Freeze Mage, Cyclone Mage, Mech Mage. They are the top contenders to the most annoying decks. Priest is annoying, but they make up that for their garbage tier basic cards and classic set whereas mage has some of the best classic and basic cards to this day.
If you think about it and look at the past 2 years diligently, you’ll come to realize that ever since Mysterious Challenger had disappeared from standard, paladin was always a combo class first, midrange second and lastly secret -and a lackluster at best-.
We’ve had Exodia paladin for more than a year and back then we also had molten giants. After witchwood, odd paladin craze began and as soon as it departed to wild, we’ve only seen shirvallah otk paladins. So the class’ each top tier decks have almost always been combo otk.
So yes, paladin is annoying. Blizzard may pay the least amount of attention to paladin, but it’s class identity is well established. You know exactly what to expect from it. As for how healthy it is for the game, I’ll leave it up to you to dwell on that. As far as I can remember, even warrior had more diversified class archetypes than Paladin had.
