I am trying to make a control warrior deck in hearthstone classic and I have both a normal baron geddon and a golden one and I also have two golden faceless manipulators but when I go to add them to my deck it doesn’t show up so I crafted two faceless manipulators only to see in my collection that I have two golden ones that aren’t showing up in my classic collection I don’t understand why I would need to craft a different baron geddon (and other cards) when I already own them it makes no sense for me to have to own a classic version of baron geddon when I have 2 baron geddons already especially since I have been playing hearthstone for so long that the classic version where it is a 7/5 is the version I got forever ago. I also had to craft a blood mage thalnos for my classic druid deck because apparently my other copy doesn’t work and now i’m just wondering how many cards that I already own did I have to craft again.
The problem is that you don’t own Baron Geddon, and you didn’t own Thalnos. They’re Core cards–cards you automatically get to use in Standard and Wild even though you don’t own them. Core cards don’t apply to Classic, so you have to own them there (unless they’re also Classic Basic, the Classic equivalent of Core).
You won’t and never did have to craft any cards again. You have access to Core cards without crafting them (or pulling them out of packs). In fact, Core cards are uncraftable.
You have Golden versions you earn access to with Achievements for winning a certain number of victories, but those are uncraftable too. You have to craft them (or pull them out of a Classic pack) to use them in Classic, but you’ll only ever have to craft anything once.
Cards in the Core Set are essentially ‘on loan’. Each year, cards in the Core Set can change, in order to keep balance, however, the Core Set will be available to all players for free.
Cards in the Legacy/Classic Set are different than those in the Core Set. If you craft a Legacy/Classic card, you get to keep it.
Note that I’m using the term “Legacy/Classic Set”, this means that any Legacy card you craft also creates a matching copy in the Classic Set and vice-versa. The reverse is also true; if you DE a Classic card, you’ll also lose access to the Legacy version.
Legacy Cards can only be used in Wild Decks and Classic Cards can only be used in Classic Decks.
The thing is I already owned both bloodmoon thalnos and baron geddon before they even had a wild format I have been playing hearthstone since before the naxxramas expansion came out and I have owned atleast bloodmoon thalnos for that long
