Great song. And yeah, I tend to go for songwriters as much as I do singers.

My favorite songwriter, if only for this:

This guy is a legend of electronic music. He’s a true professional artist and has always been ranked amongst the best. He designs a lot of the equipment that he uses. His style is considered Minimalist and has strong ties to Detroit, which is considered to be the birthplace of American techno.

The first party I went to was at the old Packard automotive plant and it was a night I’ll never forget.
Packard Plant, Detroit , Michigan, 1994
Raves are often thrown in spooky abandoned buildings, and in Detriot circa 1994, this practice really served as a catalyst to the city’s early techno scene. The Packard Automotive is cemented in techno history. It was home to more than a few legendary raves, but perhaps none more important than Richie Hawtin’s Spastik events, which were some of the first public parties of the early underground Detroit scene.
I remember the bass drops would hit so loud that large chunks of cement were falling from the ceilings.

Not to douche your memory, but I’m really glad the Packard plant and other derelict buildings are being torn down. Hope the land is re-forested.

One from my young days.

All his songs have so many vieuws on yt. Like there is one with over 3 billion.
Yet he never became hugely famous like mainstream pop artists.

I used and still play his songs a lot when playing fps games. Always gets me in the zone.

It’s PRIDE month, y’all. I took more than one bruise marching in Phoenix in the 90’s.
No corporations then. I intend to march again this year.
Some have decided We are not equal to them once again.

I’m listening to Katatonia’s 1993 album Dance of December Souls. Now thirty years later, the album is not as good as I remembered it to be. Big surprise huh!

Still got some strong songs on it like Without God and Tombs of Insomnia.

earlier in the thread Leonard Cohen got mentioned.
The man was a genius writer.
