This is something that I have not been able to figure on my own, and was wondering if there is actually a reason why this happens.
In Bg’s there matches where I end up facing the same 3 players the entire match until I die and never end up facing the other opponents who are seem to be at the same health level as I am. I kept facing the top 3 opponents who still had armor.
This does not always happen, but just happened in the match I just finished. And I don’t understand why it rotates like this, or is it really just random?
There’s a sizeable chance the Devs don’t only match players by MMR (a hidden number that shows skill) at the total game level, but also at the individual matches level inside the same game itself.
Hence what you say can happen that way in the sense that most others are more different at hidden-MMR than the others you usually match with.
It’s just conjecture and it might be wrong, but it’s easy for the Devs to code it in the game so it wouldn’t be very surprising if it’s true.
*PS Firestone is misnaming the rating “MMR”, and I don’t mean that number but the truly-hidden MMR, though it’s not too important in this context since they are partly correlated.
Maybe it happens when players join as a group.
Not beeing matched against eachoter. Then other players in lobby will see same 3 players virtually the whole game.
Maybe its blizzard added bots at the bottom to fill the lobby till they go out against eachoter and eventually the top of the lobby.
Maybe its matchmaking on mmr inside a lobby but i sincerely doubt that. If it is then its high mmr players who get an advantage in the lobby. They see the ghost more often (another rigging thing thats been proven). Even play towards beeing favored to get the ghost and get mad when dont get it. Maybe they get matched against the low rated players as well to force them out i dunno.
Its definitely rigged there is no denying that. Unless someone wants to come forward and claim. Well its statistically possible so this is just perfectly normal.
I don’t think anyone actually gave you the right answer so allow me to help.
There is some controlled variation. It is not 100% random.
One thing that is not random is that if you are in the top 4 and lose and drop down to the bottom 4, the next person you face will be in that bottom 4 as well, you will not face a top 4 person.
I think the opposite is true as well…if you move up to a top 4 from bottom 4, the next person you face is also a top 4 but I’m not 100% certain of this. The only thing I know is that dropping down from top 4 from a loss makes you face a bottom 4 person.
Because of this, people don’t rotate in a round-robin style of fighting so you very well could get player A, B, C (you’re D) then back to A and B again before you see an E F G or H player because of how that drop from 4th works. Totally possible and not rigged, it’s just how that drop down from top 4 to bottom 4 works.
Do you have that anywhere in Devs’ writing, because sometimes it seems “unfair” (probably random), and I face only the top 4 as the worst board in there.
To be fair, I read this somewhere either here or Reddit and it was supposedly just common knowledge among those people. I never paid attention so I didn’t know.
Then I started paying attention in BGs when I’d lose top 4 and it was exactly as they said. You lose and drop down you can face someone in the bottom 4, often times the ghost person if someone leaves.
Pay attention to when you drop down from top 4 and you will see.
I don’t know how consistent it is, I imagine there could be a scenario where the top 4 lose to the bottom 4 all at the same time and you can’t face a bottom 4 now because you already fought them in the last 2 games, but I’m not sure. It’s always been 100% consistent for me though.
There are also rules about who can face the ghost. If you are top 1 and there is 1 ghost, you will never face the ghost for example. There are these little rules about how it matches that experienced BG players know about because they pay attention and I didn’t pick up on them until they said something and I started paying attention.
Not exactly the same but I had the vague impression that if I lose in the first few rounds, then it’s unlikely to face the top boards for a few rounds after that,
but it would be generally easy to disprove the theory of the top 4 thing because it will only need 1 violation of the theory to be disproven.
Yes, and I’ve looked for that every time I rank down from Top 4 and it has never failed yet, and I started looking last year. So I think it’s consistent enough to make the claim at this point, especially since other people said it and I noticed it only then.
Another thing I believe that is “certain” is that if there are 7 players and 1 ghost, no one in 1-4 will face the ghost. That seems to also be a hard rule that everyone claims is a for sure rule and I’ve not been able to disprove that either. Now if you are top 4 and there are 2 ghosts, I believe you still can.
But because these rules tend to be true, it’s for sure not random at all. And because it’s not 100% random, it definitely makes sense that sometimes, especially if you are at the top, you will see some other players more often than not.
Also, this is why someone in BGs who is extremely low health is often considered “dangerous” because they aren’t facing top people until more people get eliminated. I picked up on that lingo in the last 6 months and it’s turned out to be true as well (especially having been that person myself).
It’s a bit of dumb strategy by the Devs if it’s true by the way, because the ones at the “bottom” are often the strongest, because they often pay in health to get power.
The game is fun, but it’s not skill base. It’s like a slot machine prove me wrong you can’t I like always say why does it matter so much to you personally just out of curiosity why does it matter so much? Unless you have a best interest is what I’m starting to assume
If that were true the best players wouldn’t climb back to the top of the ladder each season. It would truly be a random lottery on who is up there at the top each time.
Lol There’s nothing more than an algorithm the game puts everybody back to The exact rank every season, duh. Lol. You get about 500 more right before a new expansion a nice dopamine hit rinse and repeat…
