I keep running into waves of Blizzard bots. There is no way to report them for being bots.
I don’t know why these are in the game. I think the excuse is they are used to alleviate long queues and improve player experience, but they are ruining my experience.
I just want to play against other human beings. Even if they are rude or w/e, at least they are people. Is there a way to opt out of these Blizzard bots? Can I pay money to not queue into them? I auto-concede when my opponents can’t be added as friends, so they are also tanking my ladder ranking because I refuse to play against anyone except people.
They’re not even playing real decks. They play the worst cards in the collection as fast as possible. If you must implement bots, have them use high winrate ladder decks, or at the very least deck recipes from the latest expansion. WTF is THIS???
For the love of god, please help me escape this so I can play the game.
EDIT:
For context: I was at Silver 10, winstreaked to Silver 6 against human beings then ran into a wall of bots. I beat the first bot, not realizing it was Blizzard run. I tried, unsuccessfully, to report the obvious bot for botting, which is against the rules. The next game was another bot, which was also unreportable. I conceded, because I don’t care about the climb or ranking. I only have fun playing against other players. The next 3-5 games were identical. I’m back to Silver 8 and against humans again. I’ve lost 2 of 3 since starting this stupid bug report which turned into a conversation I’m not enjoying, but at least I’m interacting with other human beings so it’s better than that streak of nothing against bots.
Even though I don’t necessarily appreciate your opinions or demeanor as you likewise don’t appreciate mine, I appreciate your time and energy. And I just want to play this game against people like you.
If they are bots ran by Blizzard why would you be able to report them ? What would be the point ? Blizz would just be like “yes, we know, that’s ours”
You can’t send a friend request to your current opponent, bot or not
I’m not sure but that could be your main problem. You are against bots to ease your matchmaking to find players of your identified level. If you keep losing against them by conceiding you’ll keep on facing them because you “won’t be able to stand against better players”
Same goes for why they use bad decks, because if you can’t win against these, you’ll lose against meta bots and lose even more against meta players
This is just all assumptions from me based on other players reports and what seems to make sens
My best guess for you to get out of this situation would be to spam an aggro deck and always play the bots games
Aggro helps to have short games so you can have quickly high metrics to change what you face
And you didn’t read my reply
You can’t stop playing against bots immediatly
You have to beat them so you rank higher in MMR and then only you will stop facing them
To the question “How do I stop playing against bots NOW ?” The answer is “in your situation, you cannot”
To the question “How do I stop playing against bots the fastest ?” The answer is “Play against them, beat them, it might take a while, so play aggro to have short games, wins or losses”
What am I reading??? I’m on a winstreak, climbing the ladder against human beings like yourself, then I run into NPCs I have no interest playing against.
There is a ‘play against computer’ button. I don’t click on it. I click ‘play against humans’ and get redirected to the computer opponent.
How can I not play against bots??? That’s all I care about.
You may be on a winstreak but looks like you’re still Somewhere on the ladder where not a lot of players are available at any time so you’re matched against bots to reduce your waiting time
If you just keep on climbing you’ll reach a stage where this is not necessary anymore
I wasn’t playing against bots immediately. I didn’t try to add them as friends, I tried to report them as bots. I was on a winstreak, then I ran into a wall of bots. After conceding several times in a row, I went back to playing against humans. I only want to play against humans! Is that possible or should I just play another game?
So I beat people at ‘my level’, then they play against weaker opponents while I play against nothing bots or do they play against bots too??? It doesn’t make any sense. Just queue me against stronger opponents and I’ll get my butt kicked. Why must I suffer through the nothingness of bots? And do I have to do this every month I play standard and twice for wild - crawl through easy wins to ‘achieve’ more human opponents?
I agree with the previous replies that this should not be discussed here at the bug report forum. Everything is working as designed. You may note like the design, but that is a discussion that is better suited to the other forums.
No. If you end the month at a high enough rank that you are facing mostly or exclusive human opponents, then you will also face (mostly) human opponents at the start of the next month. As long as you have a “star bonus”, your matchmaking is based on the internal MMR value, which should put you against players that ended the month at roughly the same level.
On my main account, which typically ends in Diamond most months, I never face bots at all. (My alt account that I play far less and that hence barely gets to Silver does indeed face many bots. Both the legal and expected Blizzard bots, as well as illegal gold-farming bots on “barcode” (*) accounts)
(*) Barcode account refers to the fact that those accounts typically have an account name that consists of a string of random characters. They are left to farm gold for days upon days and then sold for money to losers who think that having an account with a high amount of gold will make them play better.
Let me tell you from actual experience since I found an old account of mine from 2017 that had a 2x Bonus Stars. The way to stop facing the bots is simple, keep winning.
I went 51 - 7 with Dragon Druid and climber from Bronze 10 to Gold 2 and stopped facing the bots, and I do also believe you that there are bots in these ranks. All you can do is keep winning, just don’t make the mistake some do were they prefer to concede against the bots rather than beat them; if you do that you will tank your MMR and keep facing bots.
Silver :–D This is quite literally a skill issue, I do not understand why you complain about something that was informed about, explained, and given guidance on how to fix your issue – by Blizzard – over a year ago.

Nah. That’s not a bug report.
