Open packs or hold?

I have some experience with Magic: The Gathering, and over there, it’s typically preferred to hold onto your packs and use them in draft format, so you can get the cards you want and have the possibility of winning draft tournaments.

Is there anything like that in Hearthstone, or do you typically just open the packs you get?

When Outland releases (later today?) I’m going to start tryin to get good at Hearthstone, but I’m just trying to decide what to do with the 90 packs of cards I have waiting for me.

There is, usually, no reason to hold packs in Hearthstone.

Early March, Blizzard announced a change in the card generation logic that benefits the player. That change would go live late March (and is live now). After that announcement was made, I did hold the packs I received until that change was live.

But other than that unusual event, there’s no benefit at all to keeping packs.

Got it. Thanks a lot for the info.

Isn’t really a ‘keep packs for draft’ either.
