Just watch video I agree everything he say because this bad sign when Brian Kibler dropping.

Without watchin a 24 minute video about someone ranting about a game i only sometimes play: So he’s taking a break. And? It’s okay to not play a game 24/7.
It see no path currently in hearthstone with sets say blizzard all over place with balance issue just not straight direction . So talking about playing magic gather again and other stuff in mean time.
It’s his job to play Hearthstone. Try tell your boss that you’ll maybe come back in a couple of months and see if he will say “Well, it’s okay to take a break”.
Blizzard depends a lot on these streamers that bring the game up on Youtube and Twitch with their content. Without them the game would just disappear from the algorithm.
And the main point is that he rises concerns that the community largely shares. It’s not just him. If you would’ve watched the first minutes at least, you’d have seen the part where he mentions that this expansion is so worse in design, that it almost had no impact onto the meta because nothing works well or is no fun to play.
He didn’t say for sure that he’s taking a break, just that he might. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he did. You can tell by watching his videos that he hasn’t been happy playing HS for a long time.
It’s over. They should hire Brian to fix it, but they won’t.
Who?
I am unsure why some random streamer being done playing a specific game as a job is important to anyone not married to or directly, financially involved with that person.
Their staying or going has never impacted my gameplay or enjoyment in any way.
So, you don’t know who Brian Kibler is?
That explains so much.
Yes, because following someone who streams playing a game is SO important in life.
Brian Kibler is one of the longest running great card game players around, but okay.
He also oversaw Wow TCG, which was the inspiration for HS…
Not just any streamer.
Again, who?
This idea that media personalities can give you your opinion, which is what is happening here, is why the United States is dealing with their current issues.
I have no idea who he is nor do I care in the slightest. His opinion is just as worthless as mine or anyone else here.
You like the game? Then play it and enjoy it.
But if this person makes their living or a large part of it, that is completely different than anyone else here using their free time to play cards. Not even remotely relevant.
Again?
Hes been maining MTG for years. He quit some months ago. Again, though? Clickbait title being clickbait.
This is the first time I can recall him actually taking a real break from the game.
I have watched Brian since he began on HS.
All of the old schoolers are gone. Hafu, Jeffery (trump) Shih, Amaz…
Are Reynad and Kripp still around? Or Thijs?
For some context. Brian is not JUST a streamer. He is also a CCG game designer and was directly involved with getting Hearthstone created to begin with. He’s also a HoF MTG player and worked within that design space.
So no he isn’t just “some random streamer”. He’s a well respected game designer who knows what he is talking about. The video is not about quitting HS. It’s a poor title to be honest. The video is about the problems with the game currently.
Yeah when I think of Hearthstone I don’t think of him.
Thijs is. Reynad has his own game. I don’t know about Kripp. I quit paying attention to him when he switched to bgs.
I agree with much of what he says in the sense of baffling design decisions, lack of direction, tone-deaf comms and predatory monetization. But when it comes to balance I think his takes are terrible ngl.
How many nerfs have we seen in the past year? Like over a 100? Did that achieve much to solve this so-called powercreep problem? Not really. We could decrease the power level till we are playing 1 minion each turn on curve and drawing 1 card per turn and people would still complain about the power level. The newer sets are failing one after another precisely because they’ve been trying to cater to this sort of narrative.
What was the last set released that was an overwhelming success? (also selling a ton of cosmetics btw). It was the Starcraft miniset. And why? Because the theme was good, the gameplay design was compelling, the set was cohesive and had a strong vision and, most importantly, everything worked. The previous meta banished and we all rejoiced with the new cards. Sure, some balance problems, zergs, whatever. The mood back then was overwhelmingly positive.
They needed to nerf it after, sure, then so be it. Let it be a lesson. We can do fun and powerful things and then yeet them decisively with the nerf hammer to ensure the next set succeeds. It’s really not rocket science.
Kripp only plays Reynad’s game now because he’s paid to. He doesn’t smurf BG’s any longer.
I still do not care. At all. About any “streamer” or “content creator” or whatever these people call themselves.
At the end of the day, someone who plays a game to get paid, specifically by how many other people care to watch them play, has a vested interest in the situation that is radically different and often diametrically opposed to my own interests.
What makes compelling watching and what is fun to play are quite often not the same.
I do not know why this guy gets a thread because these comments could go in any of the many threads complaining about these topics.
I feel like that is a common theme here.
