I played a lot of games today and 50percent of my matchups we’re highlander hinter
Cause too strong. I get matched a lot vs hunter too.
“Never been this bad” you say.
You must be a new player!
Also, just curious; how many is “a lot” in this case? 3? 5? 10? 20?
When in doubt, play birdies.
20+ And 20 characters
Ah, yes. Highlander Hinter. The hintiest of all the highlander decks.
People have never played a deck in such a concentration, except DH on launch, anytime rogue is good, bomb warrior. Wait this is normal.
Highlander Hinter, 2 cost hunter legendary, 1/3. Battlecry - Gain Rush if your deck has no duplicates. Poisonous. Immortal. (When this minion dies shuffle it into your deck.)
lol immortal keyword. Like rattlegore.
Just my take here, but give me highlander hunter opponents all day. Yes the deck is fast and strong, but it also feels pretty fair and not so frustrating to play against.
Rather that than getting high rolled on by a Druid, getting frozen forever by casino Mage or watching Quest Warlock heal 40 hp a game.
Sensible players see an issue with warlock healing 40+ and STILL dying to the way overturned sustained damage of hunter .
Sensible players dont think Warlock should be healing 40+ in a game to begin with (in standard anyway)…
As it should be! Warlocks should not have access to that much healing when their whole spiel is self-sacrifice. It negates the downside of the strongest hero power in the game.
Would you prefer that Warlock can continue to heal and take no sustained damage, so they can OTK for free, while doing nothing on the board 70% of the game?
A lot of things got balanced surprisingly well. It’s shame how most of this expansion was lost to poor dh work. Yet somehow hunter again skipped all balance days. Tiny changes could have brought hunter to alright place even without losing tier one status.
Why I see hunter problematic is it’s general design to burn health. You need either heavy healing decks or equal damage to compete. Tells something that hunter actually counters fast dh.
Priest has all that stuff. It has 2 renews in deck and 2 apotheosis. It also discovers a few more per game, along with penance, and a healing hero power.
it would require perfect circumstances for the warlock to get the 40 heal
anyone else wonder how a highlander deck can win so consistently when there’s IN-consistency built into it? Zeph should cost 6 or 7 and all the other discover-a-card should cost more too.
not really. cards like zeph, kazakus, reno, alex and their increased powerlevel is the compensation for only playing 1 of a lot of cards you otherwise would play 2 of. none would play highlander if you just strictly removed good cards for worse ones without getting an upside
If there’s one thing that feels a little BS about Highlander Hunter (other than Zephrys which is BS always what else is new), it’s that Dragonbane feels pretty undercosted.
It has one of those “kill me or you lose” effects and 5 hp for 4 mana. That’s just really hard to deal with.
Rattlegore
9 mana 9/9
Battlecry: probably win the game
Deathrattle: Your opponent inevitably discovers a silence
