Is it possible to have a mode where people have to use original, off-meta decks? I’m talking about a standard mode, not wild. Also casual isn’t that either, it should but everyone uses it to complete quests using meta decks and not lose stars in the process.
I think it would be fun to see a mode where people are forced to use original and meme decks and see the crazy stuff people come up with. Not sure how such a mode would be possible, besides forbidding a specific deck list.
It wouldn’t be. All you would have is a new mode with a different set of meta netdecks. Your best bet for such a mode is Arena, to be honest.
They can make cards in and out every 1 week. Maybe + 20 in 20 out. With a weekly change, no one going to craft meta deck, make it such that there is no reward except the normal 3 wins gold. Everyone can even be given access to certain legendary specific to that mode so people can just use creativity in that game.

One way to do this, is the same they do in some tournaments. Before you press “play” select 1 or 2 classes you DO NOT want to go against. This should shake up the meta.
It wouldn’t: people would greate ultra-polarised decks and ban the 1-2 classes with which this deck has the worst matchups.
Heck, any constructed Brawl lasts about a couple hours before its “Brawl meta” gets solved and optimised netdecks start popping up.
Any off-meta mode would swiftly turn out to be a pipe dream, being similarly swiftly solved.
Then simply rotate your and your opponent’s class. Meaning after 9 games you faced all classes with all 9 classes. Seems rather hard to anticipate then… you would have to build 9 decks tho…
A format where cards that are above X popularity in standard are banned; similar to how Smogon does ‘tiers’ for Pokemon.
Then just have three of those modesign where the only difference is the X value.
Make friends and play with people who share your approach.
Enforcing it through formats is not realistic. Your meta-less mode will have its own meta within a day.
Cue the cries of “P2W/Richguy-only mode!”, since 9 decently optimised decks would be required to compete.

People keep asking for this sort of thing but honestly, that’s what arena is.
You can’t just arbitrarily label decks that way
I would still be supportive of a sandbox mode where you got to ban classes/cards/keywords etc, set min and Max Mana and queue up against like minded individuals for no rewards

No, a “different” set of newmeta decks IS different.
Like, the whole goal is to create a new meta, not to avoid having a meta, since avoiding having a meta is 100 percent impossible.
New meta > the old meta.
However, ONE won’t get satisfaction playing on easy-mode if you will with their not-meta deck ideas, bc you are not challenging yourself against the strongest opponents, which would be original unrestricted meta.
The point is to win with not-meta against he toughest opponents, not against tier 2 opponents and worse. There isn’t satisfaction with beating 1/2 the mountain top, you have to reach the top (winning against normal meta) to feel satisfaction worthy of a new game mode.
If the goal of the new game mode is to have a “no netdecks” meta, then his proposed system wouldn’t achieve that. Sure, you would have a different meta, but it would remain dominated by netdecks (just different ones from the Standard/Wild ones). In that sense, it wouldn’t be different from Standard/Wild.
