N'Zoth event task 9

Any advice? I’ve watched both of Old Guardian’s videos twice each, but he omits the key information that excellent treasures are required. The comment threads (I know, youtube comment threads?! But these were actually helpful) suggested a Murloc comp, to use Murky’s slime ability to put taunt on Popsicooler and burn it down fast. Again, excellent treasures required, unfortunately.

Has anyone come up with a team, or alternate tactic with one of these three teams, that works with mediocre or bad treasures? Or is the only way through to just keep beating our heads against this wall until RNG grants perfect treasures someday?

The murloc team can completely stomp all elite encounters on the way to the boss, which gives you very good chance of getting couple +9 fishes, and you only need couple of those to have enough damage to burn it down, since all the murlocs are green and thus do double damage to popsicooler. I use the murlocs to beat all heroics that don’t require some specific gimmick they don’t have, they are really reliable, and you can just farm those elite encounters on the way to get good treasures.

The above murloc team sounds strong.

I think for task 9 I used the dragon team mentioned by OG plus Cookie, Murky, and Murk-Eye; it took me many tries but eventually it worked.

I don’t remember my treasures but I think in that one I had Yulon’s respawn one time ability and just lots of health on dragons; I used Sinestra’s heal a lot to keep the dragons alive as long as I could.

I think if I had to do it again I’d go with that murloc team. Good luck!

This Heroic Task is extremely difficult; I tried abt 13 times. All fails and haven’t been able to get close, the treasures seem that have been nerfed, never got any real good treasures. Tons of diff comps ; yt videos have full max mercs on play which might have the final edge on this task, some got lucky. I haven’t yet… Nzoth diamond looks cool, it looks like i’ll be stuck with the golden copy… I tried murlocs, dragons, orcs, demons, beasts, fire(which was the closest but my Balinda is way off max stats and gets kill early no matter what)

I see Balinda suggested often, but I don’t have good stats on her, and I don’t know the fire comp.

If you want to keep going (and can stay sane climb after climb!), I suggest the dragon team of Yulon, Nefarian, and Sinestra with Cookie, Murky, and Old Murk-Eye. Keep your dragons healed, choose health buffing treasures, and Yulon with Saronite Armor helps, too. There is also Monstrous Heart where mercs take only 1 damage at a time.

Murky has Slime Time which can give Taunt to Poosicooler so you can focus damage on it if you need to. Also, it requires luck, but Murky has a chance at the Assassinate ability which might knock off the Cooler at the start.

There’s still lots of time; just chip away at it. Good luck!

Just blast both mobs with fire comp and use the murlocs with murky divine shield + murk eye buffing combo to smash popsicooler.

Remember to keep the taunt enemy with low health always but never destroy it

Thank you! I’m used to pathing around elite encounters and didn’t think the murlocs could handle them so easily. That got monstrous heart on Mutanus, and he could pretty much solo Popsicooler with that. It was hilarious seeing him devour 102 attack from Popsicooler (trolley died because Murky’s slime taunt had been slowed and my attacks one round happened in a very different order than I intended… Didn’t matter, obviously!).

Yeah Mutanus is kind of busted already even without monstrous heart, he soaks so much damage with 8 reduced damage taken and cannot be critted.

Thks, Finally pull it off with orcs after 30+ tries.
They were so strong by the boss fight that Samuro with mirror image and windfury one shot the boss, brought Thrall(with health equipment) and Saurfang along 4 the win… now for number 10. Last event number 9 was the most difficult task as well.

Glad you made it! It took me many tries as well.

Popsicooler bounty is my nemesis, and Heroic was even worse. Task 10 felt like a breeze after that one!
