Been playing this game since the start… sh** gone weak with folks… get ruled every day now by same decks on daily used by different people. screw this game
All Druids all playing the same lame ramp kazakusen deck. It’s so boring …
Netdecking is normal for every card game. What were you expecting?
If you’ve been playing since the start then it all being netdecks shouldn’t surprise you. Did you never get out of Rank 25?
I mean you are correct, but like other people said, literally every deck-building card game has this. Always about the meta decks. At the very least in Hearthstone there’s a lot more cards that have random factors thrown in to keep things pretty interesting, that’s why I love the crazy chaotic decks that are about random cards and effects.
People who play Hearthstone tend to want to (gasp) win their games. Special snowflake decks don’t win.
i demolish net decks with my homemade decks. Cope.
Pretty much every game where you compete (even in a very casual game - like HS) against other players or an “environment” is based around running with optimized builds.
In single players game there are some builds that works well so players are using them, in mmo its the same with talent tree or rotations, in grp based game its the composition of your group where certain setups synergize better than others etc.etc.etc.
Sure, there are players that loves to “meme” or want to run some unique or interesting stuff that isnt that strong but its fun. Its ok.
Its perfectly viable in single player games or for PvE aspects or multiplayer games. Its also perfectly viable in multiplayer game where you have a likely minded group of players and friend sharing your desire to play some weaker but interesting builds.
In the old days when my back wasnt hurting as much as now and when I was able to drink 3 days non-stop without any hangover, I used to play Warhammer online mmorpg.
In grp vs grp battles there was pretty much known meta for order side - Double slayers, kotbs, IB, WP and no other party setup was even close to that. So for “serious” stuff, you would get pretty much ignored if your main was crap like Archmage, Swormaster, engi etc.
But you could still get a “meme” invitiation - like all-elf grp or even full engi meme grp etc. where you get recked eventually but still you could play with other players and have fun and here and there even score a win because your opponent might get caught off guard facing unknown composition.
Its same in HS - you can play meme or less powerful decks - just play against likely minded people. But if you wanna play in the “main pvp” part of the game, you have to expect you are going to face meta pretty much nonstop and you wouldnt score as much wins because your deck isnt as strong as netdecks.
I was mad about this too in HS but that was in the days where there was actually room for deck crafting and deck tweaking. Atm the game is just bunch of forced insanely powerful synergies and cards that doesnt fit to these forced synergies are just turned to be completely unplayable garbage.
Just accept HS is that way right now - surf the tide with netdecks or try to play off meta stuff but be prepared to have a hard time unless you face multiple decks your deck is favourable to beat.
Mate, every game ever that has a competitive mode has a meta.
If you’d play enough chess you’d face a ton of the same meta moves too. Meta builds in MMOs, Meta guns in shooters, ad nauseum.
Is HS your first game?
what else would there be? players will use the decks that win. That hasn’t changed sine the day the game was released.
I do agree there could be more variety in the meta though.
I really don’t understand how people haven’t learned how card games work after 30 years.
Yeah, it’s almost as if people would write books about best strategies - just imagine that this would be the case with chess.

Play in casual and have fun, the rank means nothing unless you want to compete in official events
This is why I have stopped playing Standard and Wild. There’s still Battlegrounds but I’m sure they’ll ruin it aswell.
Yeah these meta decks are getting boring. Just started to not care about rank anymore and play (my) fun decks. This makes the game way more fun. You find more interesting decks in the lower ranks (wild)
I believe Wild is more varied.
I got bored with standard too, and picked up wild somewhere in November. Been hanging around in it ever since.
If any downside, it is that a lot of ppl like to play highroll decks and you just randomly die on turn 3 or so, without any way to act against it.
You see a ‘lot’ like 5% or so? of people doing their own thing. I have seen some unique decks. And some OLD decks still doing good, like Cube warlock.
what i dont understand is the desire to use netdecks. Its just plagiarism but called “meta.”
I dont care about rank or winning, I care about unique decks and no two decks being identical. I havent played Standard or Classic because the restrictions on cards is ridiculously small. I have like the core cards and maybe 20 others that qualify for standard.
But Wild is where my collection can actually get used. Unfortunately the netdeckers have come there too. Even the ranks I play at (Bronze to Silver5) have an ungodly amount of them.
These people are just copy pasting someone else’s discovery and using it as their own. Its sad to see it so widespread and even endorsed. Take that to competitive Standard and Classic. Keep Wild clean of netdecks as wild isnt a place for it. Its supposed to be casual and empty of the hardly trying.
I know Im in the minority of this but I value a unique deck about 1000% over anyone winning first place at the egames super bowl equivalent with a plagiarized netdeck.
Built my own Rogue deck… suddenly all but druids and pally net garbage disappeared. It was so weird.
Not completely true.
I’m nearly at Legend for the second season in a row using a homebrew wild spell damage/hero power/dragon mage that is the furthest thing from a net deck.
I do come across the same net decking losers running the same mech a Thun or owl warlock and they can’t beat me. Sad.
It’s funny to hear all these elitist looking down on net decking and people that enjoy the game by climbing ranks at a fast pace. Hate to bring it to you, homebrewers aren’t better players. You just have to drop the entitlement, it’s the exact same behaviour you see from the “I think control should be long fatigue bore your opponent to death”-squad.
