I swear, it feels like all I’ve seen this entire day is nothing but those 2 classes in Standard. To get matched against anything else is a rarity. What the H-E-double-hockey-sticks?
Still alot of druids. Apparently banning jailer forced them to swap 2 cards. Still busy doing the turn 5 draw the deck and murder scam as usual.
Fake news.
See? You don’t.
This just in. Extra, extra, read all about it!! Warrior is still good. Druid is broken even without Jailer. Hunter is still burn centric, Paladin still swarms the board, and DK still overplayed. More info on the News at 11!
Honestly very little has changed from the jailor hotfix. Druid cut tony + jailor and now they run astalor and fizzle instead. The Eonar turn is still pretty backbreaking and they still ramp as hard as ever. Drum druid is resurging too. It’s no surprise people still play warrior and DK (People really like the DK class, and they desperately want plagues to be good. They’ll play it even if it isn’t just because they find it fun). And Odyn doesn’t need any explanation… because he’s Odyn.
I played several games at diamond 3-5 today and it was largely DK, warrior, hunter, druid, and paladin matchups. There was the odd priest, warlock, or rogue here and there but for the most part the meta is unchanged. Ramp druid is almost unphased by the jailor change. Turns out the other 28 cards in the deck are pretty broken on their own, and druid’s class identity is apparently “breaking the game by playing powerful neutral legendarys 5 turns ahead of curve”. Turns out any powerful card that can end games becomes a lot stronger when you play it 5 turns early.
The real power outliers in ramp druid are actually Yogg and Prison Breaker. Since druid can armor up to the heavens all it needed was a few board clears to give it the sustain it needed to get to whatever combo it was gonna pull off. Hell… even moonbeam druid is taking off now that it’s incorporated yogg and prison breaker into the build. Moonbeam druid shot up from tier 4 to tier 2 the moment it added those 3 cards. It’s kind of stupid tbh.
