With the release of the Emerald Dream expansion on the 25th of March 2025, we are also celebrating the start of the Year of the Raptor, and as with each year rotation, this also means a new update to the Core Set and Cards.
We’ve seen a number of posts highlighting missing cards after the update - this is usually caused by core cards being removed.
Please keep in mind that the cards you had (crafted or found in a pack) before the rotation are still part of your collection(s). You might need to adjust the display filters to find them, as you might see your Standard cards only.
However, the cards that were part of your collection only because they were part of the free core set, are now completely removed.

It is a good idea to make this thread and maybe reach more players this way. I’ve seen several rotations now and every year a number of players are confused what just happend and why.
I think it would be a good idea to give the core cards a slightly different design. Make them more visible in the collection and more distinct from the other cards.
Making them just blend in with the “normal” cards confuses many players.
it would be good to make it for these updates -
show a preview of what cards you are losing when you open the game like how we do for stat change updates. also should have a way to book mark cards in the collection/ when during this update incase there is ones we want to track/ have a most used or favorite list would be healthy for the game.
I was playing Standard ladder today, and someone won the game with “Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate” after I was about to win. That’s a wild card now the last time I checked. I wanted to report it but I also got disconnected as I was about to do so.
