When nesting golem was buffed to let’s say 9/8 and it dies, it will still come back with only 3/2. Please fix asap!
That’s just how the card works. The summoned copy is from the base card. Buffs are not counted.
When has a resummoned minion ever kept its buffs?
You misread.
This is still not a bug and the card works like Rattlegore so any buffs won’t stay after DR.
He didn’t say anything about returning to the deck.
I remembered the effect of the card wrong.
I didn’t misread.
It clearly states “revive this minion with -1/-1” and not “revive this minion with 3/2”.
So if my card was buffed to 10/8, -1/-1 would come out with 9/7.
This is a very straight forward statement, there is no room for interpretation. If they want that card always to be revived with 3/2 no matter how much it’s been buffed, then the card text should state that.
The spell cards that do XX damage and “repeat with -1” also do climb each instance down if you boost them with spell damage. The mage card that does 5, boosted to 8, will go
-7
-6
-5
… and so on, and not jump from 8 to 4.
If your minion is buffed to 6/5 and takes 6 health of damage, it is now 6/-1
If it is respawned with -1/-1, how do you expect a 5/-2 minion to behave ?
Then the text would miss the fact that the 3/2 resummons a 2/1
Spells don’t fall in negative health
Also there’s an obvious balance reason why buffs would not be counted for the resummon…
Keeping its exact stats at the moment of death would be silly, because in most cases it was already at zero health due to combat. So it would ressurect with -1 health, die again immediately, resurrect with -2 health, die again immediately, etc.
Which is not really true.
There are exceptions to this rule.
Many deathrattles rely on an enchantement when they die, even on stats.
So it has to take into account the state of the minion before its death.
Ah, you are right of course. Thanks for the correction.
No, as always the value a minion had when it came into play do count.
That would be stated on the next card obviously.
I didn’t argue against that, I said they should make it clear on the card. the dozen of threads about nesting golem and hundreds of upvotes should be reason enough for blizzard to clear that up.
I don’t really understand what you’re implying ?
Didn’t your minion came into play as a 4/3 ?
Or are you talking about handbuff ? What about board buff ?
If you handbuffed your minion has a 5/4, then buffed it on board to 6/5, it should only account for the 5/4 ?
What about debuffs ?
If the minion gets destroyed by Shadow Chord: Distort, it shouldn’t resummon anything ?
Yes… so that would be missed on the first text.
literaly 3
Including this one
Or if you’re talking about reddit then you’re not quite in the good place
As it has been stated in other topics. Resummoning a minion always resummon the base copy of the minion. Once dead, a minion loses its enchantments.
If the text of nesting golem was “resummon this” with no stats impact, it would resummon a 4/3, just like pile of bones always resummon as a 2/1, or like wax rager always coming back as a 5/1.
So it only makes sens that if a base resummon keeps the original stats, a resummon with -1/-1 resummons with base stats -1/-1, unless the card explicitely indicates that it keeps enchantments.
1 year later, still not a bug
