With a Nostalgic Clown in hand, I played a Kalimos, Primal Lord for 7 mana, activating the Clown’s effect. Then I used Shadowstep on Kalimos and replayed it for 5 mana (in the same turn, after using 2 coins.)
The next turn, Nostalgic Clown had a green border in hand (as opposed to a yellow border while its effect is active). When I played the card, the Battlecry did not trigger either.
Apparently, the clown lost its activation after I replayed the same card that activated it for cheaper because it was no longer more expensive than the Clown?
That would be the explanation
That’s a “common” bug when you can replace and “invalidate” a requirement
There’s the same issue with Pet parrot. If you play a 1 cost minion and make it attack in a freezing trap, while it’ sin your hand it costs 3 and Pet Parrot will not replay that minion, even though it’s a 1 cost minion that you played for 1 mana, because its current costs invalidate the requirement that it costs 1.
And there have been other examples in the past.
