No healthy decks left in standard

I know how much you wanna make this a thing, but it’s never going to be a thing buddy

Do you?

It’s a thing with me, so how will your statement work?

The thing is…it means your statement doesn’t work

Sure but it wasnt the same exact cards in every class. Sure OG dr boom and rag were pretty much “everywhere” but other than that people built around class cards. Not just zilliax, yogg, marin, ignis and fill out with support cards

They’re somehow made nearly every class miserable to play against. They really need to go back and seriously reevaluate their design philosophy. It’s the first expansion of a rotation and the game is decided before the first card because there’s too many I win cards.

This is the thing, between the small decks and Team 5 forcing packages in game design there is very little room for inventive deck building. So a give deck has about 25 cards that are must run and then you can maybe swap out last 5 however you want. Kibler has been criticising that element of HS design for some time now.

Uber powerful neutral legendaries only exacerbate the problem so now every deck runs Zilliax, runs Yogg to counter Zilliax, runs Marin for crazy value and so on.

The meta is too good at finding the best decks for anyone to really succeed with anything it hasn’t already discovered.

the primary issue at hand isnt deck building, its caring about your rank, which doesnt matter

rank doesnt matter

just have fun

I’ve seen this in action. Its fun to watch. I made legend weeks ago with an aggressive overheal zarimi priest, and I still have a positive win rate with it. Homebrews are still possible and still out there.

Do either of these decks run at least 2 of: Zill/Yogg/Marin/Dorian/Reno?
If no, then congrats!
If yes, then point still stands that decks require the same outlier legendary cards to climb and the rest of the deck is just flavor but doesn’t affect outcome.

I am not saying flavor doesn’t matter, it is hopefully what people find fun about the game. What i am saying is deck building and climbing ranks sets a requirement of certain cards right now before skill even comes into play.

The only two legendaries my deck runs are heartbreaker hedanis and amanthul. Every priest deck runs the titan so that’s not even an outlier. There’s no place for any of that other stuff you mentioned in my deck. It has a fairly low curve.

Then that’s awesome congrats on finding skilled success! Gives me slivers of hope there are other ways to compete as I have been having trouble.
