No Duplicate Decks

I dont know if i’m the only one, but if blizzard is going to put any further “If your deck has no duplicates” cards, then please force the deck maker to auto not allow more then 1 copy of a card. Going againist any no duplicate deck with say Dragon Breeder, any board clear, they run 2 copies of it, which personally isn’t right imho.
I’m open to criticism of this idea, but i think it should work in the same vein as the old odd/even deck archtypes that were early hall of famed.

Also if this is in the wrong area… i have no clue where to post it.

I just auto completed a deck with just Reno in it, and it gave me a no duplicate deck, so the deck maker auto-fills it correctly.

So, what’s your complaint, actually? That there are people who make duplicate decks with non-duplicate activators in them or that Reno decks have ways to generate duplicates?

that exactly, that people make duplicate decks with non duplicate activators like zephyrs, dragonqueen

…perfectly reasonable strategic choice. Maybe I’m putting Zephy in my deck as a fallback in case I make it into the very late game, by which point my duplicates will have been drawn. Or maybe I have duplicate secrets, but I’m counting on Masked Contender/Subject 9 to pull them out of the deck.

Understandable why auto-complete doesn’t suggest that, but also understandable why players would do it.

I do it to use as late game last resort.

It’s a trade off, you trade the possibility to play the card early in the game, for his strenght in the late game.

Just a thought, sometimes a discover card might only give you a no duplicate card as an option.

Happened to me a couple of times and when you play the card because you have nothing else to play I always think my opponent must think I’m an idiot for having this in my deck!

ok let me clarify some. excluding discover mechanics that can get you a second dragonqueen, or even brightwing giving you zephrys, i just want the deck maker to not allow putting 2 flamestrikes or 2 dragon breeders etc, and it still working. just a hard “you either run 1 of all 30 cards, or this card will not activate period if your doing this deck archtype.”

Well… the cards all say clearly, If your deck has no duplicates…

If I put two Twilight Drakes in my starting deck, and then I draw one of them… then my deck now has only one Twilight Drake. So Zephrys should work.

If my starting deck has ten pairs of cards, and now it’s turn 28 and my deck is empty… then my 0-card deck has no duplicates. So Zephrys should work.

You’re suggesting that every card that says “If your deck has no duplicates…” should be changed to say “If your starting deck has no duplicates…” …and, well, why should they make that change? It would make every highlander card weaker. Why do that? What problem would it solve? It’s not like highlander decks are running away with the game now.

I thought about this, but would it make any better…?

I don’t know man, this just restrict the decks too much and hurt adventures too.

Actually, it would make Highlander decks stronger. Now Highlander decks can be countered by adding stuff in their deck. But if it says starting deck, you’ll see Highlander Hunters play Dire Frenzy, since they no longer have to worry about disrupting the activation of their Highlander cards.
