yup, they’re out of ideas. This whole thing would have been slightly better if timed with the release of WoW classic I feel, but they’re way late.
I think other xpacs could be a bit harder, but i mean come on, this one was obvious back as soon as we knew barrens and a peek of stormwind was the nail in the coffin next to the ice and flags on the card previews.
Alterac valley was always a iconic and only frostly clash, But it’ll be interesting what they do.
Barrens brought Ranking spells, stormwind brought questlines (with all their pros and cons), what could alterac valley bring?
It’ll probably be broken but still interesting, maybe a revisit to hero cards? Wonder if they could combine the themes of rank ups and quest lines, Maybe the commander cards and the towers of alterac could play a thing. Like how the commanders get stronger as more towers are up in Alterac valley, maybe we could have commanders with ranking abilities that rank up as turns progress, or conditions are fulfilled? (A hero card that ranks up like ranked spells or questlines could be neat. Like survive to 1, 5, and 10 mana, and become stronger as they reach each rank, etc. )
Galkarond kinda had stuff like that, but a hybrid of questlines and warrior cards, or a questline to add a hero card to your hand could be neat dk or jarraxus style or even upgrading your Hero card as you play. Maybe Drek’thalar and the forgettable commander? (I played mostly alliance so i remember nothing about the alliance other than it was some forgettable dwarves and fighting on the bridge getting boomkinned off the road for 3 hours lmao.)
“Stay salty my friends”
What a catchphrase
ha, called it
i also think that we are going to get hero cards for each class based on the mercs, first they were just a minion, then a quest reward minion, and finally they will be hero cards!
If youre talking about calling it for it being AV, thats not really anything special.
Any WoW aficionados could tell by the spoiler content for the year released back in what, Feb?
Many people called it.
Blizzard needs to do something to clean this mess up from sotrmwind.
So I guess that means the Merc hero cards would be
Kurtrus Ashfallen - demon hunter
Guff Runetotem - druid
Tavish Stormpike - hunter
Varden Dawngrasp - mage
Cariel Roame - palidin
Xyrella - priest
Scabbs Cutterbutter - rogue
Bru’Kan - shaman
Tamsim Roame - warlock
Rokara - warrior
How about Hero Cards that start at the beginning of the game and get better as you go.
Like they upgrade after a set amount of turns?
so you want questlines 2.0
The next expansion should just be called “Cheaters, Hackers, and Pay to Play; How We Ruined Our Own Game”
no cheaters
no hackers
pay to play what?, f2p players would say otherwise
Get back to me when you play the game
playing it right now, i see no hackers
It makes sense that this is the next expansion all i can say is this
FOR THE ALLIANCE
Probably right about hero cards, which is a shame for 2 main reasons :
-
all the class mercenaries suck. They can barely even be considered 1 dimensional. The book of mercenaries stories are so atrociously bad, it’s cringe inducing. Guff is the best by far in this regard, the only one passable IMO.
-
hero cards just promote MORE linear gameplay. But now that quests have essentailly ruined the game in favour of aggro/combo, maybe hero cards push back towards control / midrange by offering broken levels of sustain / value.
Not a fan of this pendulum swing type of balance. But I’m truly hoping they are craft worthy so I can finally empty my dust bank happily and be done with this game for good by the expansion thereafter.
in all honesty, that’s probably what they will be anyway.
