New Warrior Epic Minion: Playmaker

Good for Rush synergies. But probably a little slow since you’d usually need to both play this and the target Rush minion(s) on the same turn.

Edit: updated with actual name.

Very nice effect, shame it lost some nice rush synergy when the last lot of cards rotated out.

I’m not sure there is enough rush support in the game right now, but this is going to be one of those cards that has a promising future in standard… and this is to say nothing about wild.

A 3 mana 4/3 minion with upside is decent, but this is removed so easily you’ll almost always have to pair this up with the Rush minion you want to play. Overall it’s a fair card, but modern HS rarely has room for fair cards.

I feel like this is one of those classic examples of a “Good, but not good enough” card.

On the plus side, if you do manage to stick Playmaker long enough to play a Rush minion for her effect to copy, it will frequently be a good target for Rampage. (Though you might prefer to save that for something that is guaranteed to be able to go face, not something that has 4 health minus the attack of whatever you decide to hit with it on the turn it’s summoned.)

I think Playermaker looks cool, but is impractical without a ton of support.

Play rather than Summon, and Rush stipulation are both limiting.

I don’t see it working, unless Warrior gets effects like Reduce Mana Costs or Gain Mana Crystals. Or Some new card that Summons random minions from the Warriors hand or deck at the start of the next turn.

1/5 Star Power Card

another card that can be useful for a control style warrior, this + restless mummy is really strong. it also have good stats so it can be played for tempo on turn 3 aswell and will at that point create a “must remove” threat to prevent any rush synergies

If it was Summon instead of Play, it would trigger off the copy it summons for a loop that would fill the board.

so Warrior gets a minion that instantly cast vivid nightmare on any rush minion with a 4/3 body for 3…
Hm hm hm rattle his throat ‘’ Frea…ing… po…creep ’

Don’t use the word Powercreep if you don’t know what it means.

Vivid Nightmare only saw play in combo or cheat type decks. This card only works on Rush cards, and warrior doesn’t rely on Rush synergy to make something like this actually work.

Card is a 2/5 in a vacuum at best, probably not even playable with current meta.

Not sure about this one, probably no. 3/4 would have been good but 4/3?

If it lives turn three and you have kargath on four, nice value. But right now warrior just doesn’t have a ton of rush support. Though that might change with this expansion. If this card was a neutral or hunter card I would probably value it a lot more.

Very interesting. Please tell me more how I should think, dear random person on the internet. yawn .

Combo this with Dr.K and Warriors are going to be having stupid strong weapons.
Start crafting those oozes and Harrisons people.
And pray you remove it before having 14 bombs shoved in your deck

Eh, killing it on turn 3 -4 isn’t super easy. Especially if the Warrior is holding a weapon to clear your board (like a free axe).

Also combos with Galakrond (4 cost rush and buffed minions) and all the damage based spells. I think this can fit.

Does the minion need to have Rush as a stand alone keyword or will this trigger off minions that gain Rush through battlecries?

If you’re talking about Scion of Ruin, the copies of Scion are summons and probably won’t trigger Playmaker. Just the original Scion of Ruin would summon a copy, so effectively 4 Scions.

This combo’d with Restless Mummy can be used as a board clear. Combo’d late game with Doctor Krastinov can make a really big weapon.

Transmogriffer could have been a real decent counter to bombs…
If it wasn’t a easily removable 2/3 body xD

Really missing a card like Gheist to transform all bomb in your deck into something else.

There is, and it’s called Wyrmrest Purifier.
