Agree here 100 percent. Example of this maybe, is this morning i am playing a greed deck with tess afainst control warrior, i know he has rats and so i am playing and have played three kayns and those 4/3 deathrattle priest guys. And i keep three extra minions in hand so they can get ratted. I am ready tk start my turns of tesses and the turn before he plays the rat which doesnt get my other 4 minions in hand at this point, gets the Tess.
That type of random can go away i say.
What you’re talking about has NOTHING to do with balance. Balance is the appearance that multiple different strategies might be optimal (when in truth most of them are not). Just because you have a streak of bad luck doesn’t mean that a particular strategy has a lower expected value.
Maybe you could refresh my memory of the meta present in year of the Raven?
I’d say if you believe year of the Raven is when the game was at it’s most boring, I’d say right now is when it is at it’s most ridiculous. Essentially, I think the boat has teetered too far in the wrong direction again, it’s close to capsizing.
Raven was when genn/baku launched, and then doomsday project made fatigue control warrior really strong.
I didn’t mind that year TOO much, but every deck was basically a genn/baku deck the whole time.
It just had one low power set (rastakan) that didn’t create new decks, but had a lot of support cards for other decks, so I don’t even view it as a failure like some others do.
Actually we had to nerf mammoth year decks a ton at the start of the year or most that stuff would probably not even see the light of the meta.
But of course people trying to defend that power reset BS will not tell people that.
Otherwise how could someone defend playing the same decks for basically a entire year.
And i talking of atleast 2/3 hard hitting nerfs.
You don’t need to power creep things to create new decks.
The goal shouldn’t be to displace the last set of decks, just add more viable options.
It also sucks when a deck you liked becomes terrible every time a new set launches because the new stuff is just better.
I agree instead of making more powerfull cards make cards that are on a similar powerlevel but different
