I’m just sitting here thinking about all the things that I used to want to double, but couldn’t because of needing to draw and/or discount Brann.
It feels like it’s more or less control oriented. At amounts under 6 mana, the best things you can do are maybe Murloc and Lackey related stunts like double Coldlight Seer (+4 health to all murlocs) and Gentle Megasaur (double adapt). Maybe double Galvanizer to induce some strange mech combos.
However, once you start pushing 8, 9, and 10 mana, you start seeing some big versatility - double Antique Healbot, double Jade Spirit/Chieftain, Bomb Lobber, Dopplegangster… heck, a lot of the elementals love battlecries, and double Blazecallers, Kalimos, or Servant of Kalimos would extend value.
That being said, its effect is much tamer, I feel - most battlecries are somewhat reasonable if you have to pay 2 extra for another use, or big ones like Loatheb don’t necessarily need doubling.
Still, makes me wonder if there’s not a Mechathun deck in the wings. Double Galvanizer, two Crushing Hands, and you got one dead Mechathun. Given Shaman’s new control tools, it feels possible.
So I went an looked up the deck you’re talking about an its labeled “Freeze Mage” standard only of course. You’re telling me Kalecgos is a “key card” of this deck huh?
Don’t mind me, but the key cards to myself seem to be Conjures Calling, Mountin Giant, maybe Jepetto, Tony with Alex. An of course the same played stall cards like frost nova, doomsayer, card draw etc.
I can’t tell if you were troll baiting me, but I’m not conceding any point that Kalecgos isn’t the card I painted him to be. Whether people are annoyed that term was garbage, trash, bad, useless, what have you, they all share one thing an thats a negative term dude.
Yeah, if were going down that root of cards like Duskfallen Aviana to match the term trash I concede its a better pick ok? Lol.
The argument here should be, can this freeze mage deck perform better without Kalecgos in it? Id say so, because I layed out what the key cards were that win games.
Lykotic I’ll make you a deal, you prove to me Kalecgos is a much better card than I give it credit for, that is be your definition a “key card” to that freeze mage deck. By doing so I’ll blow my saved up dust to craft a golden one just to remind myself I was wrong. I’ll even bump my thread with the picture. As proof required, just do what you do in ranked with the deck. Show you having a positive winrate playing it, with Kalecgos being a deciding factor as to why you won. Shouldn’t be difficult with how everyone seems to believe im wrong lol.
Playing against it… Kalecgos is a power play in an attrition game which this deck kind of aims for if it can’t ramp crazy in the early game like ALL decks running Conjurer’s Calling. Kalecgos is probably a top-10 card in the deck.
Edit: I’d so take you up on that offer but I was wrong about the possibility in Wild and I don’t have the card =p

Then you might as well play the elemental that doubles battlecrys (is that still in standard). This looks pretty bad lol,unless a broken combo comes up with it.

No,we are not impressed with this card. Quests are kinda bad against any agro in general,you can not afford to give up 1 card in mulligan.
And this effect,2 mana you need spend. how is that ever good?
2 things popped into my head when I saw this quest: Annoying shudder meme people will complain to no end about for no reason, and a value based midrange lackey shaman type thingy.

Except it’s a Murmuring element every turn on demand without actually having to draw it, works with all battlecries instead of one, and stops that horrible 1/1 body from taking up board space.
It’s honestly really good in any slow-ish value shaman, especially with lackeys, and maybe dragons aswell.
I mean, think of it this way. Brann was a 3 mana minion that has seen enourmlis play rate in any deck including just a few decent to good battlecries. This includes shaman.
Same effect, except it’s every turn and costs 1 mana less.
it does compete with hagatha for control decks,i honestly don’t see it unless there will be a combo.
Midrange maybe. getting 2 lackys from the murloc instead of 1. Is that worth 2 mana extra? maybe in some situations,if you have the mana spare yes sure. Is it a big win when you pull it off,no not really.
It could maybe work with the cards that summon big minions as battlecry (and then evolve the 1/1 token that summons). it could come before hagatha and can be somewhat fast but it does feel kinda clunky. Shaman will need quiet a few good battlecrys to make this worth going for,unless there is a combo where the payoff gets very big.
And when compared with bran is 1 mana less,but also a 2/4 body less. 1 mana for a 2/4 body is not bad. But yes you can do this everytime you want,and have 2 mana spare. Swamqueen would be worth it,you have to safe it for turn 9 then. But it will need much more then that. You lose other hero powers and you give up card in mulligan.
Ohh…I didn’t even see this deck on the list lol. I have no idea if this is better than the freeze mage lists I was looking at.

Its slow. You lose turn one AND it doesnt go off until turn 7 AND it adds 2 mana to your turn costs. All of those words are bad for aggro
Cable Rat. The totem is a value card, purely. Cable rat only saw play in 2 major decks and both utilized its body. Only 1 of them was a lackey deck, and it had an incredibly strong lackey generator. Totem will not perform like those, being useless stats overall and often just being “2 mana draw a lackey”.
A slower, more control themed deck can do things with both cards. Aggro really cant.
2 Mana to activate makes it seem a bit expensive. If it was 1 or passive it would probably be more worthwhile.
Probably be a good addition to control shaman, though, provided we get more anti-aggro support (battlecry AOE would be clutch).
They will not stop support for a standard mechanic because of wild and sincerely you only get a bad time if you’re dumb enough to try your way out of the shudderwock prison instead of concede for the obvious lose.
It is standard control warrior boring level but with a flashy card that makes a show while you tank up.

I doubt they did their move because of that version of the deck. Blizzard is the type of company that move based on people whining and want this out requires critical thinking when no one is talking about.
Broken interactions are broken, period. When your options are concede or watch 10 minutes of animations and prey, then said card is a problem.
Shudderwock should NEVER have gone live, all it has caused is problems since day 1. And now, they are introducing support for it?!? Sorry, I do not like this quest while Shudderwock exists. I will all but guarantee another innocent card bites the bullet due to this quest before Shudder rotates.
It DOES have some ingeresting implications for the future though, since Shudderwock will rotate before it does. Perhaps we’ll see the return of battlecry-focused Elementals?
Rotation is irrelevant. Shudderwock is a problem on a fundamental level, and always has been. That is my problem. This quest in combination with him… They better be testing all BC minions thoroughly from now until eternity which given their recent history is unlikely, or something is gonna break.
The quest itself is fine, Shudderwock is a ticking time bomb.

They could just delete ice cream pedler. Because that card never found other use than this exactly deck and I doubt it will find anything else in the future.
People liking or not blizzzard did take the challenge of design around shudderwock and there is no nerf to it that isn’t admit what was stated above about for every stuff you did this game cards and redesign they.
I not want more cards in the state yogg is despite of whatever impact they have on the game and the reason is that such moves are just cheap to everyone and based on short term demmand.
