New Rogue Legendary Maestra

rogue has been busted in wild

Ive been a burgle main since burgle was invented im very familiar with the ins and outs of Tess. Even when you swap classes.

You cant choose what is going to get stepped or not. What she does once she is played is with random targets. Playing maestra into a random hero card is a 12 to 16 mana commitment assuming you even draw maestra. To make tess reliant on playing all that before she is even worth playing is not a viable approach. Its way too slow.

Plus even with a curated list of rogue cards to replay you are gonna get a lot of value back but it will be random and you cant just build an otk or anything.

I do think being able to play a decent warlock minion from pip in the deck helps with consistency.

You take away too much flexibility by removing all burgle cards. You shud have the option to play tess without playing maestra too.

I think at least a small package of burgle discovers like Velarok and the quickdraw discover spell plus the excavate package will be good in a maestra deck.

Actually velarok is the exact rogue minion you would want tess to resummon if you class swap.

Yes, I agree you need a small burgle package but they should be discovers for the most part. That’s definitely the way to build it. You don’t want your excavate reward more than once or twice and then switch classes and get the excavate reward for that class

Lets see the warlock cards. I could see your idea working with just velaroc and several good warlock cards for tess consistency too. That is definitely a route worth trying

Yes exactly. I’m waiting for warlock cards. Specifically, removal and healing cards.

A 1 mana drink. 3 spells from 1 class that gets your 8 mana spell to 5 real quick.

since this is warlock, paladin cant use it?

It’s Rogue, but paladin cannot use it because it’s the tourist. Tourist cards are the only ones the other classes cannot use.

Hopefully lock gets no spells that hit enemy face…

Maestra to hero swap, bounce around at some point, infinite Tess that you can play 5x per turn.

There’s already a lot of different combos that people aren’t thinking about imo.

For example, Record Scratcher. Currently sees zero play. If you play this twice and also play other weapon cards, any time you play Tess you will be getting 2 mana crystals refreshed because that weapon will deathrattle twice. It’s a small thing, but it’s something that has synergy now that didn’t before.

Sap is now really playable. Play Tess and you’ll auto sap the enemies board, destroy a few minions via the new spell and/or assassinate, drop a Velarok or 2 or 3 and charge and discover new cards, drop a sonya waterdancer all of this for the Price of 1 Tess who almost certainly bounces back to your hand via shadowstep and breakdance.

People aren’t thinking about how this is also a Rez for your own minions as a Rogue. Drop Sonya earlier and do a combo and she dies? No problem. Now you Tess later and 2 breakdances go off and 2 shadowsteps go off and you have her back in hand or at the very least back on board again. There’s also Bounce Around that pretty much is a rez, send back to hand and now you have those minions in hand, they cost 1 and you have 2 mana crystals refreshed from the weapon. Play Tess again for 1. And again for 1. And again for 1. And again for 1. All you need a spell that says it hits enemies only.

Tess can get real close to going infinite. And we haven’t counted a single non-Rogue card yet.

Bounce around alone makes her infinite as she will always bounce back to hand.

It’s more just about making what she does otherwise still deal damage.

Yes, and 1 Record Scratcher gives you the mana back that turn so you can play her again. She can really go infinite THAT turn. You could actually play her 100x in 1 turn if you are fast enough. There’s no limit.

Shudderwock is back, but it’s rogue.

Right now before seeing lock cards, it looks like goldbeard and a few pirates are the ticket for infinite Tess OTKs.

Play bounce around, goldbeard, Maestra and the discovered hero, add a record scratcher and now you’ve got infinite charge! Animations will probably stop you from OTKing with it, but it’s will be obnoxious if that’s playable at all.

Sounds disgusting. I like it! The Goldbeards would also summon more Goldbeards as well because you would be playing them from hand multiple times. So if you play 2 at any time, you’d get 2 more summoned later.

Saps and minion removals would clear the enemy boards making way for Goldbeards to hit face.

Bounce around will destroy most of them later, and you are a bit at the mercy of your tess order, but it theoretically works.

And eventually Tess just starts filling your board with Tess, because she’s a rogue card too.

I want to go test this in game now against the innkeeper. But doing the stupid major domo combo is rough.

Ok, so this is actually a fairly weird interaction but bottom line is there is entirely TOO much value for Goldbeard to work.

If you play Tess and repeat your Rogue Cards, sure, you’ll get an entire board full of Tess and Goldbeards and an entire hand full of both, but the Goldbeards almost never attack because there isn’t enough board room space AND Goldbeards only go off AFTER the entire Tess effect goes off. So that is to say a Goldbeard comes on board, another Goldbeard triggers it, another Goldbeard comes on board, another Goldbeard triggers twice and you see the “trigger” effect lightning bolt flicker, but they never actually attack. This is because they don’t get to attack until AFTER Tess resolves…and after Tess resolves, you likely have all those Goldbeards in hand for 1 cost but can’t play them because your board is full.

So, yeah…you get tons of mana back, but you can’t spend it because you just did this massive summon and your entire hand is filled with Tess/Goldbeard and excavate stuff or whatever else you generated.

I did the combo about 20 times and only ever got 1 or 2 Goldbeards to ever attack despite summoning 10-20 of them.

It’s probably best to ditch Goldbeard.

But, I did notice if you did nothing else but play Tess, Record Scratcher and Bouncing Around, you could play Tess, get 2 mana back, play her again for 1, get her back, and so on and so forth and could be back to 10 mana in the same turn. Problem is…what do you do with 10 mana and an entire hand full of of cards and a full board?

Honestly. I’ll take this direction for Rogue now since the excavate deck is going to really become diluted when the new set goes live. I guess i can see now why they are doing this for Rogue and not having this as a neutral for all classes to play.

If they are going to keep bounce effects in Rogue they need to make cards like this that are pricey and attractive to bounce instead of the normal ones that become free and are a no brainer to bounce.

The real question is how many turns on average did it take for you to get the infinite Tess set up going and do you think if you had a real opponent you could create enough tempo to get there without dying xD

If you can get there and go infinite without milling Tess you can probably win some games with it just by running people out of stuff

I just dont see how you could consistently get there yet. Healing has always been a weakness of Rogue.

The shudder deck had tons of sustain in it and a decent amount of aoe too to make it

Maybe tar slick + ?(pip warlock spell) helps get you there

If headcrack was in standard it would be hilarious with whatever youre cooking xD

If Sinister strike was it would be terrifying and maybe even a viable deck

Waaaaay too slow. Will mainly be ran for the tourist effect.

This card makes me almost want to play rogue!
