A nice effect for Rogue, since you could equip a dagger, then switch out your hero power temporarily to something that won’t conflict with that.
Edit: Celestalon has confirmed on Twitter that it’s just basic hero powers:

Big bag of meh 20 characters
More pengflinger abuse
Wand Maker Nerf to Rogue.
Another gimmiky random card but the pay of seems… good-ish?
Wonder if this includes the alternate powers like Galakronds or spellgenerated ones like Shadowform.
For Wild atleast.
if it does that I might consider playing rogue.
The footage in the reveal video just shows basic hero powers. And that’s what I would assume is how it works.
Also, the card gallery shows Hero powers in the “Related Cards” section, and they’re just the 10 basic hero powers.
1/3 chance it’s a superior Sinister Strike (4 damage if you get Hunter’s Hero Power). Other Hero Powers are pretty meh though, considering the power of Hero Powers comes from the fact they don’t use up a card while this does use up a card.
At least, that’s assuming it can only Discover a basic Hero Power. If it can get others as well since unlike Sir Finley it lacks the word “basic”, that’d change everything.
The idea that this isn’t restricted to basic hero powers is silly.
Best option is life tap with this but rogue has better card draw right now though… seems meh overall.
Yes, I know it is silly, but I like to be optimistic.
Very interesting card that has been taken off the shelf and introduced in Barrens. I like it but its using up the slot of an EPIC card that could be more useful for another card. Still have hopes for the other Rogue cards.
I’m betting it will be used with another card that boosts the Hero power. ie. 4 damage, 4 health, 2 card draw… all at 0 cost
There are potential or situational uses for a lot of the basic hero powers:
DH or Druid can temporarily buff weapon attack, if that matters.
Mage or Hunter can ping the opponent’s face behind taunts, or Mage can ping minions if needed.
Priest and Warrior give a little extra health, which is not easily available to Rogue otherwise.
Warlock is obviously good for card draw (though that’s not really something Rogue is hurting for right now).
Paladin and Shaman are probably the least directly useful to a Rogue of the 10 options.
Or you could even just get two daggers for 1 mana instead of 4.
And finally, the zero cost is helpful for Inspire stuff if you wanted to try to build that way, probably in Wild unless they’re experimenting with bringing it back.
The only nonstandard hero powers in Standard we know of yet are Jaraxxus and Shadowform. Quests, Reno, and Galakrond all rotate.
Adding a 1/12 chance to break the game by getting two 6/6 for one mana would be idiotic.
Honestly, not that bad in standard.
Has synergy with penflinger and the inability to use your heropower when a weapon is equipped; together with the high highroll hunter hp, this may even make the cut (or perhaps via wandmaker)
Now the meme potential is better; changing into ragnaros playing this card, changing into hollow valeera and somehow kill your opponent 2 turns later…
Seems ok; I’m probably not putting this in a deck but I’m not upset about generating it.
Very cool!
10 more characters
Other than for penflinger purposes, not sure if it can be played with other purposes given it’s mainly decided by RNG. E.g. in a scenario you’re hoping for a heal or a 2 damage lethal play from hunter hero power, that’s none of your Discover choices
having only 30% to get what you want means that it’s not reliable enough to be maindecked imo.
on the other hand, 30% is not terrible chances, and there is some overlap between powers, so i wouldn’t cry if i got this generated.
But i can’t see it being maindeckable.
ofc, there may be more synergies incoming that will change this viewpoint.
Here’s hoping that Rogue gets some DeathRattle cards…
