Dang, permenant Shadow Madness on a hella anti-Aggro body with Taunt??
Gonna be some salty boys & girls with this one lol

Could be interesting to combo with Lazul’s Scheme, too. Probably a bit unreliable though.
Funny, I saw it as “randomized Cabal Shadow Priest.” But that was before seeing the Taunt part.
Yeah, Scheme was ran a few times with some cards, but always wound up being dropped. I doubt we’ll see it unless the meta goes super greedy with known late-game power-hitters in most decks.
As it stands, this card is still pretty impressive IMO.
Yep. If dealing with Aggro though, any minion stolen is often two removed from their board.
An untargeted shadow madness ain’t that great, even if permanent. Gonna get complaints, sure, almost every priest card does. But its pretty meh imo.
Depends on what it’s being used on. Midrange+ or value/combo decks? Definitely not. Demon Hunter, Zoolock, Pirate Warrior, Murlock [anything]? It’s very likely to remove two things from their board from its effect alone since, like Shadow Madness, whatever it steals can immediately attack.
Yeah, hope you like stealing lackeys.i stand by my meh statement. Far too many tokens for it to be good.
I don’t play much Priest, I just support them tearing new cornholes into Murlocs and DHs lol
Infiltrator is just so much better. Based on current cards, this simply doesn’t cut it. Obviously more to come, but its meh right now.
I don’t really like Cabal Acolyte, unless everyone starts running Attack Stat Reducer cards.
There aren’t enough 2 Attack Minions.
2/5 Star Power Card
Okay, so, apparently this is a randomly-targeted Shadow Madness, because the stolen minion doesn’t have summoning sickness. Man, this card suddenly got a lot better in my book.
Wolfrider has charge and 3A… hasnt seen competitive play since before formats launched.
By that logic, Mind Control should let you attack with the minion you steal.
It doesn’t.
That doesn’t change the fact that a card that lets you use a minion the turn it’s stolen is better than a card that makes you wait a turn before doing so.
True. But the gameplay video from the Reddit post Wardrum linked shows the stolen minion attacking on the same turn it was stolen. So…
You spend 2 cards to do that though and, most importantly, have no control over what it hits.
Sure, you have a 2/6 taunt, but at 4m that’s no tar creeper.
Which is a change compared to every other permanent “Gain control of a minion” card. It could be interesting if this is a general rules change, but inconsistent if it’s just for this card.
Cabal Acolyte looks amazing at first glance, but honestly I’m not sure it is good enough to actually put into a deck.
Problems:
a: 2/6 Taunt for 4 isn’t super impressive.
b: as a spellburst it needs a separate trigger, Priest has 17 spells with a casting cost of 2 or less, only 5 have seen much play (Smite, Renew, Death, Penance, Thoughtsteal) fwiw Coin is a thing
c: Consider the stars that have to align - you need Cabal Acolyte in hand + a cheap spell you want to use & the opponent has a 2 attack minion.

On the “plus” side, Priest generates a lot of random crap, so there is a world where every Priest has this + Lazul’s Scheme because they randomly generated it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t priest already favored against tempo DH.
Doesn’t mean it necessarily will be after the expansion comes out. Particularly since until the last set of nerfs, DH was still favored against Priest (based on VS’s last report). Based on HSReplay data for Diamond-Legend, it does seem that Priest is now favored, but I’m not sure how well you can compare the two sites. Guess we’ll find out once the next VS report comes out later today.
Oh look! Even more reasons for me to hate Priest in the future!
