I cannot understand how people who are in the apprentice stage of Hearthstone have meta decks. And if that is possible why do I have to play against them, I only have basic cards and decks. Shouldn’t players be matched against other players with similar skill levels?
It is based on skill levels, but I bet the MMR range at apprentice levels is wider because the pool is smaller.
I have good news when the new expansion launches we will have a rotating core set which will be free if u have leveled your heroes hero to at least 10. the game will become much more easier to play for new players
If u have more questions u can read this and ask us too to help with anything.
Some people choose to buy lots of packs immediately upon making a new account. That enables them to find a lot of the cards in those meta decks by just opening packs, and craft the rest from disenchanting cards they don’t want to keep.
Heartstone is “pay to progress faster”. If you wave your credit card long and hard enough, you can have a full collection on the first day of playing. For me personally that takes a lot of fun away from the game, but for some people gaining ranks fast is the most important element of the game, so for them this makes some sort of sense.
Those people should normally either make it out of apprentice ranks really fast (still sucks for their opponents, though). Or they still remain there very long because you can buy cards but not skill, and they craft a deck they find somewhere but never learn to play it well (and those are the opponents you can beat, even with your much cheaper deck, if your skill level is high enough).
twenty characters……
i have no idea what rank you’re at but your posts are generally some of the most helpful on the forums. you don’t rank bash or do other gross things a lot of the other regulars on the forums do. i wish more of the forum were like you vs like how they actually are. lol
you’re always trying to help people get better which i find nice. a lot of the forums seem to think you shouldn’t have an opinion unless you hit legend but then when you say you’re having trouble with something specific they just troll you about how it’s not an issue at high legend and l2p instead of trying to tell you how to counter it. XD
You can also search up Old Guardian on Youtube. He makes lots of budget decks. Rarran (also YouTube) does regular videos on the best budget decks for the current meta.
i’ve seen some of his decks on hearthpwn i think it is. very useful for me when i’m trying to figure out how certain archetypes work. old guardian i mean. lol
Yes, there’s the meta deck vs. basic deck challenge, but I find myself routinely lined up against high level players all the time.
Why have I been matched against GOLDEN HEROES, regularly, for the past six months? It takes 500 wins to gain a golden hero. It has taken me my entire playing time to get to 500 wins amongst my characters just in the past couple of weeks. I have a long way to go for a single golden hero.
It is very discouraging to be so ridiculously outclassed in some games.
So I went ahead and played a couple of game on my Alt EU account. Very few cards, some of the free legendaries. Played Warlock - a Zoo/midrange zeck that would have done ok during RoS/Uldu, less than 2 years ago.
Game 1: Priest with Scholomance and MDF minions and spells, who would’ve thought a 3 mana 4/7 would be OP? Yes, to us regular players, it’s nothing.
Game 2: Full on Spell/No Minion mage. I even got out a 10/10 Frostwolf Warlord against them.
This was at Apprentice 37 btw.
Having to commit to a decent deck off the bat, (even a budget one, spending 1000 dust) is far from ideal.
Core Set should shake up that balance, but by how much?
They will say you get matched against higher ranked players so you don’t have to wait too long to play. I think it’s they want to feed P2P players an easy win.
If it helps you, I’m still in the New Player (Rank 6) and my free legendary on the DMF reward track was C’thun. I was super lucky and that card literally went in all my decks. I also saved up 2000 gold from that reward track and bought the DMF mini set before it goes away. Lastly, in regards to Legendarys, the game gave me 2 free ones - Silas and Vol’jin.
@Skylander - Lucky you! I had to grind, grind, grind… and finally sell all my dust to make a C’Thun because it just. wasn’t. coming. up. By that point, I had more than 75% of my cards and was trying to get my DMF achievements done before the new release. Enjoy your reward!
