New player LF advice

Hi all,

I’m a long time WoW player, but now wanted to try out Hearthstone on the side. I’m a rather casual player, and rank doesn’t interest me that much to be honest (not aiming for pro  ).

Anyway, I’ve unlocked all the classes, but they don’t have all the cards unlocked yet, and they’re not even level 10 (only have 1 that is or so).

I tried a few matches, but obviously lost as I don’t really know what I’m doing and making a deck is beyond my knowledge  The guides or info that I found online (and on this forum) is usually too advanced for me to get (yes, even the “basic” stuff). Seems you need to know all possible cards in the game?

Anyway, I’m not here to whine, but I wanted to ask what I’d be best of doing next?

I’ve been enjoying the solo stuff like the puzzle scenario which I’m close to finishing.

My plan was to play practice sessions on all toons to get all of them to level 10 which will (or so I hope?) unlock all or most basic cards.

But then what do I do best? There’s a next expansion now, will that matter for someone like me or is that only for top ranked players?

I definitly will play the solo stuff like Dalaran Heist first as I enjoy those, with unlocking the rest of my toons in between.

Then I suppose I should choose a “main” class? And then get as many cards for that class as possible by doing the quests?

What’s this dust stuff, I just dust most cards of the classes I don’t play and use that to make stuff for my main class?

I already heard priest and warrior are not good choices for a first main, I suppose I can hope to discover a favorite while levelling them, because I lose all “real” games regardless of what class I play since I haven’t been changing stuff in the decks (yes, I’m that new).

So all advice is welcome! Thanks in advance!

Hey^^ you can check my guide that i made and other guides(how to manage gold etc) too in my channel it can help you to some level ^^
in this video im saying that mech hunter or token druid are the best starting classes decks which is true because they are cheap and you can easily win with them with little knowledge , you can find decks by browsing the internet ^^

Just keep at it, no substitute for experience. Make mistakes, but do not disenchant cards that are not extra copies.

If you are on the NA server, feel free to add me. Beaky#1601 is my battletag.

Hearthstone is kind of an introductory card game. The way I approach card games is that each piece of it (the deck building, the mulligan, each turn, etc.) is a puzzle that needs to be solved.

To simplify the process, I would recommend building a new deck of whatever class you like best and hitting the ‘complete deck’ button (I may have the name slightly off, it’s the one in the area where you put your cards). The game will then build the ‘best’ (not always, but they’re usually pretty good) deck you have available with your collection.

You will want to start with getting all classes to level 10, as they have some great cards you unlock this way (Kill Command, Frostbolt, Shadow Word: Death) and you get a tidy sum of gold.

From there, you can play in unrated games or on ladder or just play adventures and PvE content, whatever makes you happy (there is no roadmap to enjoying the game).

If you ever want to test anything out, I a Free to Play, but I do have a lot of the cards and I would be happy to share (though sadly this feature is only available in challenge a friend mode).

Choose a class you like as your main. Anything can win once you know how. Play Lots and watch streamers. Read or watch guides for specific decks.

Watch trumps teachings on YouTube they are good too.
Old guardian has some good guides for current dekcs,
Watch pros like thijs or Rdu to see how they play. You’ll learn quicker watching a lot but play a lot too.
