New Player: Feeling Discouraged

I really don’t agree that you need to spend that kind of money (or any money) to compete at a high level. You just need to build one or two successful decks.

Look online for some decks in your preferred class. You might need to craft a few cards - you will figure it out.

(PS I’m a new player too)

I don’t think that’s a good idea. Many of the solo encounters are very very unbalanced and not a good representation of modes like Standard.

I will be honest, if you are f2p, it will take you 1-2 years to have a good collection and being able to play multiple class.
If you want to use money: Better spend your money in Lost ARK or the new yugi oh!

Blizzard doesn’t care about standard mode anymore. because it doesn’t bring money.
Just forget it. Nowaday I would never recommand someone to play hearthstone. 5 years ago yes; But now spend your money somewhere else. You miss nothing.

I mean Imagine a game where the dev doesn’t even care about the official forum.
Lea dev is biased toward certain classes in hearthstone. I don’t see a bright future for standard mode in this game. Just leave it, not worth. We mostly all play less and less, but people can’t even admit it.

I recommend it as for a new player, watch experienced players and chose 1-2 class that best suit You.

And recomment this chanel:

You can find a lot of information and tricks here.

I think, Arena is a bad mode for new players, as it requires a good knowlage about what is good/bad. Also might not fit to current quests.

Best mode for new ones is probably weekly tavern brawl (modes), when it has no deck building invovled, but it might not work so good to complete quests.

You ever see RNG in a poker game? You ever seen someone look through their screen to read their ops? Poker is calculations and timing. BIG diffrence!

Do any CCGs take skill, in your opinion?

That’s how I’d characterize Hearthstone, though the degree to which you’re calculating and timing will vary based on the deck. There’s stuff like Quest Warrior, then stuff like Poison Rogue, or Mozaki Mage.

Hey buddy, just wanted to say you can add me and test out your decks also I can spectate your matches and help you out and give positive feedback, I was a new player myself at one point and I can say you’re not alone  I play on NA my BattleTag is KittyKat420#1260

If you haven’t already received help you can add me. Trompello #1284. NA. I have been playing since 2014 and i enjoy teaching new players. I don’t really net deck so I wont push you into playing only top decks although that will certainly help you win more :). I got legend this month with yogg cthun control warrior if that doesn’t give me clout ill play an even weirder deck next month :). Pro tip grind arena or casual duels. You learn alot and in arena you can build up cards. Losing gold is fine just be patient youll eventually be good enough to play almost infinitely.

If I had to start this game as a new player, I wouldn’t bother.

You’re awfully dour lately.

What do you mean lately? I’ve been a cynic since KandC.

You’ve been putting on the extra thicc french cries lately.

Buck up, Tiny Dancer.

Heres the best advice you will get, look up a cheap aggro deck one that has one legendary or even no legendaries and play that until you earn yourself enough gold to experiment with other decks. Playing aggro hunter, or elemental shaman, or token druid, are probably the best decks for low cost. You should fare decently well if you play aggro.

I believe BGs maybe a good idea. I’m pretty sure you can AFK these and still earn XP and gold.

Can anyone tell me if this still works? I’ve never done it but have heard others doing it at work and such.

It depends what you want.

I am F2P and liked to build my own decks (still do) and settled for getting as high rank as possible with the cards I got, and then aimed to improve that rank every month.

Eventually I got legend but that took me like 8 months or so.

So it depends what you want, for me reaching legend was never a big deal. Getting good at building decks though was.

So it depends what you want.

Hello and welcome to HS!

First, we are the end of the year in Hearthstone. Yearly rotation is right around the corner. (April)

You’ve started the game where power creep is normally at its highest. My advice would be to keep playing. The next few weeks could be spent building resources.

The Reward Track helps fill up your collection a bit. Tavern Brawl gifts a free pack every week.

I’m a returning player. What I do is reroll quests that require me to win. I opt for quests like, “Play X amount of games” or “Play X amount of minions” - you get the idea.

It is discouraging at first but so is ANY game. Especially when you’re new.

Secondly, I’d advise reading Vicious Syndicate report so you can get an idea of the current metagame. There are lots of budget decks to be had. Do your quests, build up some gold, and sit on your resources until April. Sets will be rotating out of standard and you’ll be on a more even playing field.

If you’d like some practice, you can add me:

I’d recommend Aggro Elemental Shaman to do some climbing with. It’s solidly tier two, diamond through legend. The best part is the deck is very cheap and very effective for that cost. You may want to also look into Face Hunter. Face Hunter is consistently competitive, and I believe it’s cheap.
