So i wanted to see what the game is truly like for any new player joining so i logged into an account i hadn’t played in years have no cards basically playing with legacy cards with a few quest packs opened .
I could barely make a deck like it was all spider tanks and Yheti and well similar ttype cards.
I played about 5-6 games and EVERY single game at the lowest Bronze rank was players using tier 1 or best deck of each class.
Now that would be an understatement to say that would be a horrible experience for any new player and i am not even new but with the current power curve of the game old legacy cards stand zero chance versus tier 1-2 pro decks.
So the p2w showed it’s ugly face and proves the ranking system is also terrible and does NOT work at all.
I know someone will think well maybe unlucky for th 5-6 games but NO a new player experience should NEVER be facing players with tier 1-2 decks.Furthermore these players played like no delay and played perfectly.
So i believe there is another problem and i don’t really understand it and that is i had one player see the junk i was playing and conceded to me so they are either forfeiting to keep from moving up rank or just felt sorry for my deck and ceded. However my point is that is NOT a good gaming experience no matter the reasoning.
So somebody in charge of this game/team needs to take a serious look at the design/setup if hoping to encourage new players. No new player wants to join 6 games and see 3 tier 1 Druid Kazakusan decks like every card including Guff right down to the exact pro builds.

It doesn’t get much better sadly. Save your money, buy a game with developers that care about their product.
Furthermore imagine a new player all of a sudden sees his Druid opponent has 17 mana to his 7 he would be left shaking his head a noob deck versus a pro deck and with half the mana.
That also proves just how bad the power curve ruins the game and especially if hoping to get new…ish players.
i cannot imagine playing this game as a beginner.

The experience is bad for new players because the game is rigged so the new players quit fast
The one good thing about a meta is you can a build a deck that counter it and win a sizeable amount of your games.
I hear it’s rigged for a 50-50 win rate, so the new player experience is exactly the same as everyone else. I hear it’s also rigged to get people to buy packs and that new players fall for this because they aren’t experienced enough to see that it’s rigged.
But I guess if new players are quitting fast like you say, it’s not rigged after all.
new players dont start at bronze
im playing on another region
apreentice ranks getting to 30 now havent seen meta decks
well i was guessing idk i haven’t played down there in years this was a reboot of an old account.
I don’t really pay attn to the color or anything at low rank it was merely a startup experience with just noob cards.whatever rank that is idk it looks like bronze my point is that no player with noob cards should be facing p2w pro decks it is just stupid.
Anyhow i am back to UPDATE because i want to be fair so i overlooked the FREE starter deck which i just whiffed on because i didn’t think it would be worth it so forgot i took one. Then i remembered about it when i was trying all the classes to see if any are viable as a new player.
In hindsight i seldom ever play Hunter i am not interested in playing a game of play card press hero power play card press hero power but sadly that is the deck i took my fault.
Anyhow my point is that you will get one competitive deck and that is in reality the ONLY deck you will be able to use because i went around to all the classes and nothing is playable except the FREE deck.
Will that ONE deck help you complete quests, likely not unless you get all quests related again likely not.
An example of how the system SHOULD have been done or MY personal example is that the cards/rating value should determine where you play.Is it a bit of work for the team or 1-2 people assigned to set it up yeah go figure WORKING at your job lol what a novel concept lol.
So if everyone is playing the free deck which i assume they are and why you see all these good decks then i guess it is a game of deck matchups and does sort of work but you’ll have all the players just playing one deck is that really a healthy game environment …one deck?
So i assume the argument is that it is to get the players feet wet and at least be able to compete sure i could accept that answer.I still by the rank and system needs more work and more depth and not just a simple rank.I also wonder how these players that seem to play so well can remain such a low rank which is why i wondered about players conceding even though they were easily going to defeat my noob cards.
