Only a bit below Vanilla stats. Lifesteal seems to fit with the healing theme in some of the other Paladin Dragons so far. And it’s the Paladin’s explorer so it creates a new dragon. Overall, it seems pretty solid.
Also, it’s going to be nice with buffs from Talritha and/or Dragonspeaker if you can land those.
The funny thing is that once upon a time people would have gone nuts over a Netherspite Historian with an extra point of attack, Lifesteal, a relevant creature type, and no condition to boot. Now it just seems like it’ll be filler in whatever Dragon Paladin deck crops up (if anything crops up) :/.
Idk maybe I’m underselling it but compared to a lot of the stuff we’ve seen so far this looks kind of lackluster mebe?
Really though… The 2/3 conditionless value AND lifesteal for 3 is already good, but Paladin also will now have at least three cards that buff Dragons in your hand. Giving a Lifesteal minion +3/+3 is a pretty big deal.
I really like this card as someone who still uses Historian in Wild. In addition when building your Dragon Paladin decks (I know it is my day 1 deck… that or Control Warlock with the new legend) it counts as 1.5 Dragons in my accounting method.
I think that this is a step above filler. While it’s not a card that wins games on its own, it is a very good support for a lot of the other dragon cards that Paladin has gotten, and I think it will play well into the handbuff direction that they seem to be going for the class’s dragon decks. So, I would say that it’s more a strong workhorse in a Dragon Paladin deck rather than just filler that you might include to round out such a deck.
With this and the rest of the things we’ve seen so far, Dragon Paladin is one of the top decks I’m looking forward to building after the expansion comes out.
I’d say the best exploring dragon there is…all lifesteal minions are very meh statted, but here you replace it with a card. Neat and cute…and I want what I know for christmas now.
Good thing Paladin has 2x Dragonspeaker and now Dragonrider Talritha to not only give it +3/+3, but it discovers another Dragon to pass Talritha’s buff/Deathrattle to.
