So, it’s Pure Menagerie Paladin then.
So, it’s Pure Menagerie Paladin then.
why is Purator not a mech
Wow, this seems cool. Pure Paladin is one of my favorite archetypes of the last couple years so I’m excited to try this out. Knight of the Dead is a fantastic card…a 5/5 on turn 3 or 2 with coin is bananas and well worth the health cost. Fits in with the “blood paladin” model while also helping to recover that resource in the late game.
Note that Goldwing can follow Timewarden for Divine Shield value. Quite strong.
And Purator is a powercrept Curator. Of course, it’s only as strong as the number of Paladin cards with different minion types. But having a draw engine that actually impacts the board when you play it is what you need to make it relevant.
EDIT: After rotation Paladin will have a Beast/Elemental (Lightray), all their Dragons, many Mechs (Leviathan foremost), a Naga (Myrmidon), and a couple Undead (Sinful Soux Chef and Knight of the Dead at least).
In a follow-up tweet they said that Curator never should’ve been a Mech, as “Arcane Guardians/Golems aren’t mechs.” I disagree with this based on the current limitations of Hearthstone tribes, but I guess it might make sense. You can’t magnetize Zilliax to an Earthen Golem.
King Mukla crying in the corner
These look nutty, might have to craft the countess now. I love me some Menagerie shenanigans.
I never play pally but these cards look great.
the only card i think i can use for my wild paladin deck is the new thaddius, it should be fun pull him out early
Can’t think of any paladin mech synergies that would make them scared.
They… might be just scared at how generally good it is?
Pure paladin in standard can easily fit beast, mech, dragon, and undead. Wild can also throw in a murloc (what’s the over under on paladins getting murloc next year?)
Drawing up to 4 cards is strong on its own, and this is specifically drawing minions, which fits right into pure pallys preferring to keep on having minions for pressure/targets for buffs.
All this on a body that’s solid aldor truthseeker stats, including the taunt part.
So even without mech synergy this is doing a lot.
the prime minion for paladin is a good murloc target to draw
The Purator is a solid card-draw engine for Pure Paladin, something that deck kind of lacks.
Goldwing provides a Mech/Dragon for several Paladin Archetypes (Pure/Dragon/Mech) with a strong board swing potential.
Knight of the Dead provides a very aggressive 3-drop for Pure Paladin, plus another minion type for the Purator to draw. The fact that it can provide late-game healing instead of the face-damage makes this card instantly more consistent than similar low-cost, high-stats minions with early game drawbacks. I believe this is the only Undead Paladin minion in Standard.
Finally, something for Pally to deal with the absurdity of DK.
Sinful Soul Chef (the 2/1 deathrattle) is actually undead
The tag was rarely if ever relevant, as there hasn’t been an “undead paladin” deck type (which obviously can’t be pure due to lack of class undead related cards)
This dragon is terrible not worth running in a dragon paladin deck but the legendary and the undead are awesome. Time to cook a new pure pally deck.
Unbelievable… an already great deck gets great support… meanwhile, trash taunt warrior gets more trash taunt support.
Lol
They’re not even hiding the bias.
Pally’s winrate has gone down dramatically since the start of the season. It’s barely top 5 and barely above 50 percent winrate. It gets stomped by 3/4 of the other top 5 decks and also by Priest and has a rough time with Hunter. You guys say this about Pally EVERY season, and by mid season its barely 50 percent, hovering in mid tier, then finally unplayable towards the end of season.
DK and Mage is roughly 50 percent of the ladder right now and they both OBLITERATE Pally. Blame the playerbase using mindless decks like DK and Casino Mage, forcing a power creep on a balanced deck just to check another class.
? Are you unaware of Pure Paladin?
Are you unaware of the actual stats of Pure Paladin?
Are you unaware of the terrible play rate and win rate of Priest?
Are you unaware that Pure Paladin has a positive win rate against all Hunter decks?
Sounds like YOU’RE the one who doesn’t know what’s actually going on in the meta…maybe it’s time to start accepting it’s not “you guys” who are wrong, but rather it’s you.
Paladin obliterates Big Spell Mage and Blood DK. Yes, it struggles against Frost and Unholy DK and Ping and Aggro Mage. And no, DK and Mage don’t make up 50% of the ladder. You’re not even close to knowing the real stats here…
Again, you don’t play Pally and you always think you know what you’re talking about when it comes to the class. All I do is play Pure Pally, I am well aware of its abilities and limitations. It is the only viable Pally deck as Dragon Pally is garbage and SH Pally is awful once you hit Diamond.
Pally was the top rated class 3 days into the new season. It is now 5th, after all of you said it was the best deck in the game. The most popular decks in the game BULLDOZE Pally right now. Mage and DK are nearly half of the matches in D5-D1 right now, with DK still DOMINATING every rank, including Legend.
It doesn’t matter what the playrate is for Priest, it kills Pally. Anything that can go wide KILLS Pally. Anything with burn, KILLS Pally, stop looking at all those inflated winrates in lower ranks.
Play Pure Pally for 10 games against DK’s and try and win just two games, I dare you! You need to get out of Gold and Plat.
Yes I do. We’ve been over this. You’re oblivious to the fact that Pally is my 2nd most played class.
Then you must play it badly, because the stats show Pure Paladin isn’t just a great deck, it’s one of the best decks.
Put simply, your argument isn’t with me, it’s with facts and data.
You don’t have an HSReplay premium sub, I’m assuming. Because if you did, you could see how wrong you are.
Just the simple fact you said Pure Paladin sucks vs Hunter, which is a complete opposite fact from the stats, shows that you aren’t playing the deck correctly. I don’t know what you’re doing where you think Paladin sucks vs Hunter.
It crushes every hunter deck. Near 60% win rate against Beast Hunter, the most played and best Hunter deck.
First off, the fact I simply said “Pally has a rough time with Hunter” and you’re equating that to me saying “pally sucks against Hunter”, shows just how frivolous your response is. The fact that’s the ONLY thing you’re focusing on, shows how frivolous your argument is.
Pure Pally is well under 50 percent against DK and Mage, the two most popular played decks in the entire game, by a HUGE margin.
Again, go play 10 DK’s and see if you win more than 2 games as a Pure Pally in Legend. If you can get to Legend…
Ah, moving goal posts.
So does Pure Paladin suck or not? Because stats say it doesn’t suck. Doesn’t matter who it loses to. It’s overall win rate puts it in Tier 1.
Tier 1 is not sucking.
You’re trying to convince people that Paladin isn’t as good as people say it is as it sits in Tier 1 comfortably.
Give me a break.
No one moved any goalposts, it’s an underperforming deck against the most popular decks that has an inflated winrate due to lower ranks and stomps of Druid and Rogue. The deck wouldn’t need to be buffed if 50 percent of players were playing something besides DK and Mage. Haven’t changed ANYTHING from my original point.
Kick rocks Bronze logic!
