I think it can be a god card to discover vs control cards, might not be a card you tech in normally. tho it’s not a fatigue protection, but still potential value over many turns, unless a lot of things cost odd mana.
Because deck building does not want that.
I want either the answers or a proactive play. I don’t wanna “Maybe the answer if I have two mana floating” because ideally, I wouldn’t have those two mana.
You’re right that this card couldn’t cost less, but being what it can be does not make it good. We had a 2 Mana fill your hand with spells card for a long while and it only saw play as 1 mana.
Because i busy trying to Win and even if i wanted to discover cards i can do that cheaper and usually with a body.
You’re absolutely right. The card is crap on it’s own.
I’m not even sure if there are cards that make this worth it played in concert.
Team 5 hates mage.
In short: if it’s used as is, it’s 2 Mana discover a card. If you use the finale, it means you made, overall a suboptimal play to discover a card you can’t use now.
The only way it works is if hoarding cards through the game works itself out to a win con. That is to say, maybe if it has support it can work, but it’s a pretty bad card otherwise.
This was my thought. It would have to have insane support, and if it does, the cries for nerfs will drown out any rant I have ever engaged in.
This is slightly offtopic, but I just thought: what happens if a finale card costs 0 mana? Do you get the finale effect even if it is not your last card played?
Infinitize the Maxitude. Nice name and the art is awesome.
Mage is losing it’s Infinite Burn Supply: Ignite, Dumbgrasp, Wildfire.
Will have to see entire card pool to determine if Mage is going to suck or not.
6/5 Star Power. As a Standalone Card it’s Discover 1.5 Cards on turn 2 to me.
I see it the other way around.
The cards i actually think that are good enough to see play are incredible cheap if not free.
Card like:
Rolling stone
Metrognome
Paparazzi
They’re even returning Stargazer luna to the core set. That is a card that can spiral out of Control as much as braan.
Together with recent cards like arcsplitter the class Will not only be powerful but very cheap to play.
honestly…
a versatile card? Certainly
decent card? Certaintly
auto include in many deck? Certainly
A great card? not really. it has the potential to get you out of trouble but very often it’ll just be a tempo loss. You can only play it once per turn to maximize the effect. it would be very good at 1 mana . At 2 , its feel like a second hero power.
We pretty much already have infinite value without this card. Why use this card when you can get the same effect while also putting stats on the board? Might be good next year after Year of the Hydra rotates if the trend of power creep going in reverse continues.
Accurate, and it negates everything you said before.
The card is crap in an average game.
It will just jank your existing deck.
The biggest problem with this card is that it’s a value card and value is dead in anything other than Arena. Trump is the mayor of a pile of ruins.
The card looks really good, but as you start to consider what it does, it quickly looks very, very mediocre.
The problem is the Finale. In order to get this back in your hand, you need to have it be the last card you play…
…which is a problem with discovery. Usually, you want to discover something to play that turn, not next turn. And therein lies the problem…you can’t use this spell to discover answers, you have to use this spell knowing you are giving up 2 mana on this turn and then do nothing else (unless you have coins/etc).
So in reality, this kind of sucks tbh. You have to start by losing tempo and then play the thing you discovered next turn.
Otherwise, you’re paying 2 mana to discover something that normally should take 1 mana to do. I feel like this should have at least been a 1 mana spell.
2 mana recurring value shouldn’t have a finale, it should have been tied to something else.
Or tied to nothing at all.
2 mana spell doing this is already suboptimal enough.
Other Idea would let it get 2 spells and stay as it is.
This card feels like a deliberate insult to mages. That art and that name on a mechanics nothingburger with zero viability? Disgusting.
It’s a slap in the face. Team 5 hates mage and they have proven it repeatedly.
100% agreed.
But i kinda okay with it because the core set is really nutty for a mage player nowadays.
That to not even talk about EXP neutrals like paparazzi.
That card is literally a Mage card in disguise.
What this spell should have been:
Discover a spell. Return this to your hand at the end of your turn.
Finale: Get a copy of the discovered spell.
Maybe the point is to slowly fill your hand to play the DJ Manastorm over the game, guaranteeing close to a full hand.
But then it begs the question: why not just DRAW the cards in your deck?
Can’t really see this going for anything other than 4fun deck building.
