Seems like any upgraded spell you get will be busted OP BS. At least this will be slightly harder to get working than Zephrys because you require an additional dragon in hand and not just the almost non drawback singleton requirement. The bad news is that Mage and do both fairly easily. There will probably be enough Dragons to run Singleton Dragon Mage and have it work extremely well and consistently.

This card is super busted as well. 2/8 is kinda strange stats but its going to probably kills something with 2 attacks. But who cares much about the stats. A 3 mana sprint. 1 cost poly? deal 8 fireball? I think the 3 mana sprint is insane. Imagine that after pocket galaxy. They all should be damage though. Maly is about spells and damage not polymorphing stuff or drawing cards.

As long as they stay on the rng-road this game is never going to be a good game. There is more than enough rng already. It’s what makes this game boring and bland and what keeps me quitting midgame.

The announcement trailer showed Malygos being played, and the discover there included two other cards beyond the initial three: Flamestrike (8 damage) and Frost Nova (1 mana).

Since all of the cards that have appeared so far are from the basic set, I’d guess that Malygos’s pool is likely to be basic spells. If he can give upgraded versions of just those, that would still be a pool of 9 spells, most of which are pretty good.

Hmm I see. This seems to be a very strong card either way. Even the weaker mage spells become decent if upgraded. Maybe 5 damage arcane missiles and such.
I am still wondering how secrets will upgrade,mirror entity becomes summon 2 copys? And what about mirror images, 4x02 or 2x0/4? Pyro for 12 damage or maybe 8 mana.
Its a great card for mage,i do like it a lot.

Think some of you are slightly overrating this card. It takes 5 mana just to play this, lets say your opponent already have a few minions on board and you want a flamestrike or blizzard you can’t play it on the same turn anyway unless those are discounted from upgrade.

Yes but Mages seem to consistently never paying full price for anything.

I am sad dragons aren’t 4/12s, 8/8s or 12/12s anymore.

Kinda ruins the Heartstone theme by a lot.

Another thing Blizzard has thrown out the window for some “Cool and fresh” cards

Looking back at the announcement trailer where they previewed Malygos, and the speaker there specifically says that Malygos empowers “basic Mage spells.” So, no secrets, no Blizzard, no Pyroblast.

I hope with this card freeze mage archetype is going to be viable again, I just dislike the overall mage direction the past several months that heavily leaned toward RNG cards. But why it has to be holding dragons though, that alone is massive drawback, I hope we get really good dragon cards this expansion

Ethereal Conjurer was good enough to be an Arena staple.

This absolutely blows that card out of the water. And unlike the Wild Growth on steroids, you are very likely to draw into even modest support by the time you want to play this. Very strong card.

Awesome Mage Dragon for once. But what’re the other Dragons Mage will use?

For sure fun to be had in wild with its Dragon options. I’d like to see standard dragons be stronger than elementals for mage though. Back when Un’Goro was around.
