The custom weapon starts by choosing 1 of 3 bases:
- 1 mana 2/2
- 5 mana 3/4
- 10 mana 5/6
Then, you will choose a “trait”:
- Poisonous
- Lifesteal
- Windfury
- Damages Adjacent Minions
- Immune while Attacking
Finally, you will choose a “special ability” that scales based on the weapon size chosen:
-
After your hero attacks, summon a random 2/4/8-cost minion
-
Battlecry: Deal 2/4/6 damage
-
After your hero attacks, draw 1/2/3 card
-
Deathrattle: Deal 1/2/4 damage to all enemies
-
After your hero attacks, gain 2/4/8 armor

Super weird that this Warrior legendary doesn’t have the class colors. Hmm.

Discover is still limited to 3 so you won’t get the exact weapon you want, every time. I can’t imagine anybody going for the 10 mana weapon ever, that’s too much of a gamble on what the effects will end up being.
A 5/6 weapon does end the game, though…you have a solid chance of getting Windfury. And summoning an 8 drop is strong.
For real though, Khaz’goroth should’ve been this. The “Forger of Worlds” draws you 1 card or gives you 5 armor, meanwhile some 4-mana Fire Giant is over here crafting god-slayer weapons.

Its very interesting that the bigger bodied weapon isnt just buffed once just with the number in the special effect, but also the amount of times the effect can go off because of more durability.
Another thing is you are always guarenteed to be offered at least q after you attack effect, which could be very good on those higher durability weapons.
Probably one of best case scenarios is this turn 4 into turn 5 lifesteal weapon that gains 4 armor when you attack. Over the course of 4 turns that would deal 12 damage, restore 12 health, and gain 16 armor

One day I wanna make a 10 mana 5/6 weapon with windfury that will randomly summon an Illidari Inquisitor after my first attack to face, then hit my opponent again for 13 more damage hopefully killing them

(1/5) chance to get a specific trait for the first option, then (1/4) chance to get it on the 2nd option, then (1/3) chance to get it on the third option. You have a 60% chance of finding a specific trait, which is way more consistent than Kazakus was.
Obviously that becomes 36% to find the exact total weapon you want, but that’s still pretty good. If I land the Windfury but then have to settle for armor instead of summoning minions, I won’t be mad.
The Battlecry and Deathrattles seem by far the worst on that final list.

Hrm, I sense some Demon hunter OTK incoming.
1 Mana windfury weapon where both swings can go face to double all other attack buffs for the turn, maybe draw some cards or deal 2 damage as a battlecry.
It’s a 60% chance to find windfury.
These seems pretty dang good. The choose options were always great with Kazakus.
The question then becomes whether or not forge items are worth running. Assuming you have at least 1 decent Forge card that you can run, this guy is definitely worth it. He packs a LOT of options.
The 5 mana 3/4 windfury with battlecry deal 4 damage is a bit scary if we’re being honest.

Is Forge Warrior the cool archetype that slow Warrior fans were promised? Guess we’ll see. It makes total sense for the class flavor…
Maybe this neutral legendary ends up being basically a pseudo-Warrior legendary, as occasionally happens…I’m not huffing hopium or anything…
Ignis looks really strong.
All of the choices for the player on the card are pretty strong.
The only problem could be having enough Forged cards.
If a deck has like 8/30 slots for Forged cards it’s a 5-6/5 star power.
I think a deck will only have 2-4, maybe 6/40 slots for Forged Cards, so… 4/5 star power and probably pass on putting it in deck.

Interesting. Mage can now slot a weapon to attack with. I wonder how this messes with the math on DD spells being so good in Mage without access to a weapon previously.
So… I know very little about Warcraft proper… Why does this guy have a crucible for a cod piece? What exactly is inside it?
I sense druid ramping to 10 tobuse the trn mana weapon
It’s his belt buckle, and it’s a vat of lava. It was the default model for Fire Giants in World of Warcraft.
Highly doubtful. If every class gets a Forge card, it will be 1 each. I don’t know how you can make “Forge Warrior” a thing with 1 card + 1 legendary.
Forge isn’t a warrior specific keyword
Super unique design and allows for a flexable gameplan my faveroute non titan legendary sofar.

Understated, needs a requirement before he goes off, then you have to sink Mana to equip the weapon.
The 1 Mana weapon is baller, but you’re looking at it basically in the late game stages. An this game sucks for late game strats.
He’s mediocre fluff, won’t be in a single Tier 1 deck for sure.
This curves extremely well with the mage forge spell in the trailer (but not yet revealed). if you have both cards you have turns 2-5 mapped out with high value.
This card seems very powerful, but it hinges entirely on the ease with which you can draw Forge cards and spend the 2 mana to make them Forged. Importantly, you don’t have to actually play said Forged card to activate Ignis. We’ve only seen a couple of cards with the Forge ability, but until we see the whole set it’ll be hard to determine the viability of Ignis.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s very viable. I have a feeling making cards Forged will be pretty common in the upcoming meta, especially when you throw in this guy as a strong payoff.
Looks really strong in control vs control, even if you just get to use it 1 turn. Even vs aggro, if you get poisonous and the deathrattle to deal damage to all enemies you can look at this as 5 mana clear the board (4 because of this and 1 cost for the weapon). Some classes (like druid) would really like that board clear, the only problem is that you won’t get the options you want all the time.
