Everyone cried rivers about Reno until the card was nerfed to oblivion, but we can take a look in this new legendary and make comparisons?
7 manas 7/7 and turn your deck into an infinite source of increasing treats, cheaper than Reno ever was, no highlander requirements and an effect make Reno a child’s play in comparison, specially in control matches.
How this work, why a 10 manas Reno, totally crap in comparison, needed to be destroyed and this card is fine?
Old Elisiana cost 9 manas and don’t give you an infinite deck, why this abomintion is ok for only 7?
What is more OP? Wipe a board once per game or having an infinite source of increasing treats?
If at the very least the card had bad stats then can be argue is a powerful effect for a massive tempo loss, like 8 manas Brann, but not even that.
I don’t think the card need to be nerfed to oblivion, but can’t understand the logic behind, why the pathetic weak (in comparison) Reno needed to be destroyed but this much more OP card can be cheaper and not nerfed at all?
I don’t play with warrior for months, instead I was playing Reno rogue with Tess.
Just don’t understand why Reno, even at 10 manas and deck restrictions make so many players crying for the mommies, but this card, what put pre nerf Reno into garbage tier in comparison is fine.
8 manas Brann is powerful but at least the warrior player skip the turn 8 for that, this new card just give you infinite resources for a slight bad 7 manas turn.
Because you don’t get you were playing easy mode. The demon portal is no threat to an aggro deck that had its board set up. Reno was lethal to it because it runs out of steam by the time it’s round ~7 or higher.
It doesn’t win you games right away though, the payoff only started to get noticable after 3 or 4 more turns, still plenty of time to try to aim for lethal before that happens.
For some basic aggro decks it was more or less lethal, because their tools are very bad late game. E.g. a flood paladin; it’s great for the first 7 rounds of the game; then it’s bad against any minor AOE played twice or even against a couple of high hp minions.
Reno was basically giving the controller 2 extra rounds. It was already late at the moment of playing Reno so chances to recover … approximately zero.
I mean if the aggro pilot can’t consistently pull off lethal by as late as turn 8 then he shouldn’t play aggro since the pilot itself might not have the understanding to play aggro decks. I used to be that guy who played control and combo and despise aggro, tempo and midrange decks. I realized back when pirate warrior, token shaman and murloc paladin was meta the aggro mirrors are not only have quite decent skill ceiling but one mistake of doing bad trade or going face could ended up losing the game. Just try to watch your friends or spectate any game on higher and lower ranks you could almost see on lower ranks people have no idea how to play aggro even control decks ( I swear I saw a friend of mine playing dk but never made an attempt to push for face or lethal even when they had the perfect tools like threads of despair and minions, they didn’t push the small advantages to chip down opponent health before playing threads of despair or aggro pilot at lower ranks who always trades and get punished because they weren’t trying to set up for lethal for turn 6 or 7).
Like for example if you play flood paladin you have to keep in mind the opponent have AoE removals, you gotta make calculation is it in your favour to trade minions or go face instead since your minions will get cleared at some point later.
Sure but the typical warrior was oppressive for an extra reason. It also had a ton of minor and medium AOE. Even minor AOE was devastating to a deck of thin-HP wide boards.
So it was like easy mode to clear a couple of times at least, and then easy mode in general even if they didn’t clear everything because Reno was ready ~80% of the time.
Yeah sometimes dead draw happens and nothing you could do. It is the way it is. Aggro is unfavorable against control anyway, there is one deck that could stand up to warrior atm, nostalgia shaman is really good with conductivity package using jive ragnaros and demon hunter cards that costs 3 mana to get 4 attack from your minions or opponent minions, I tried Zarimi priest but since funnel cake gets nerfed it’s way harder against warrior now.
How is warlock doing in the current meta sir?? Was never get into playing warlock this is the only class I am clueless after 10 years of hearthstone save for zoo decks.
