Basically a targeted, recurring Recruit a Beast Legendary for Hunter.
This can work well with the new ranked spell as well. At 5-mana you could drop this, play Tame Beast Rank 2 for a 4-mana 4/4 with Rush and summon a 3-mana Beast from your deck.
Also, it’s the Hunter Mercenary.

It’s no DK Rexxar, but this card will likely improve as the year goes on and add more beasts to the pool
The god roll chain:
Highmane (6) is on the board
It attacks and summons trampling rhino (5)
Rhino rushes and summons a Mok’nathal lion
Lion summon zixor
Zixor summons 2 drop (a… rank 1 tame beast that was shuffled by dire frenzy?)
Tame beast seems to be made for this, as on turn 5 you can play it at rank 2, resulting in a 2/5, 4/4 rush, and a 3 mana beast from deck

Tundra Rhino died for this.

This card is kind of nuts. There is a good number of rush Beasts that you can chain into on the same turn. Even turn 5 you can play this with the Ranked spell and pull out another 3 drop like Zixxor that pulls out a 2.
We don’t currently have a 2-drop rush but if one appears it can chain into boar. In wild boar can chain into penguin.
Though in wild those can all have charge from tundra rhino.
I’m not sure this is a great card, but it’s one of my favorite cards I’ve seen released. It’s a deck building challenge, and it’s one of the more unique ways to cheat mana that has been introduced.
This is really neat.
Hunter is actually getting value, card draw, tutoring etc. and for once, it might be just as good (or better) than just going face all day.
At 10-mana, there’s already a pretty decent chain available for Standard next year:
Tavish > Tame Beast (rank 3) which summons a 6-mana 6/6 with Rush > Trampling Rhino > Mok’Nathal Lion > Zixor > something 2-mana (there aren’t any Rush Beasts there for Standard, at least yet).
You could even combo that with something else that cost 3-mana or less, maybe something like Parade Leader so your Rush Beasts all hit harder. Or Shan’do Wildclaw to copy one of the summoned beasts.
We’ll need to see what other Beasts they add to the pool, either from Hunter’s remaining 5 cards or from Neutral.
Can’t wait to see what people do with this card!

Now that’s what i’m talkin bout. A card with meme potential
This card is so broken lol
Recruit had a lot of strict guidelines specifically to stop some OP combos. This guy just threw a lot of those guidelines out the window.
I mean maybe in wild in the cheapest mana costing beast deck this could help cheat out stats well it bricks master’s call for those decks so that’s a problem.
In no way in wild is this thing helpful or playable. we have no taunt to get our secrets going. If you same-turn this on turns 4+ no beast you are pulling is going to matter. The one exception i could think of is trying to pull alba this helps tutor alba if you don’t draw it, but so does scavenger’s, old tracking helped more, new tracking helps less for tutoring a card.
“attacks” so that means “rush” which shoots down disruption type cards which is what non aggro decks have to have. That’s the problem in wild if your not-aggro deck can’t disrupt your opponent’s combo or consistent stream of burn and so on, your ‘not aggro’ deck isn’t interacting / is trading badly / is taking face damage each turn. Cards are not designed for wild, so far i think hunter at this pt is doomed in wild outside of like a reno hunter or some phase stalker type deck. Nothing so far this expansion in wild is playable.
Draw doesnt mean anything on it’s own its about having draw and what you are drawing into. Playing this on 3 your like secret mage opponent just has this get burned down or your apm mage opponent is like whatever i just need 2-3 turns yet to assemble my 0 cost discover burn turn and so on. And that’s just mage, excluding reno mage which is sort of a thing fringe deck.
Think about like an odd rogue or kings rogue i mean it’s game over.
Obviously a priest is happy to see rexxar.
We have nothing that lets you do non aggro things, we got beast-draw and a solid cycle in flare finally. These beast cards, they’re no mechs like beast hunter is just too slow for wild unless unreal beasts start getting shown or hunter spells get good.
The way to get this wild playable would be like
“after a friendly beast attacks, discover a card from your opponent’s hand”
or “after a friend beast attacks, cast 2 secrets from your deck”
or something like “reduce the cost of your hand like emperor thaurissen”
Or, if this had extra text “battlecry your opponent’s spells cost 1-2 more next turn”
It does find albatross though, but off curve that’s the problem.
it combos very well with the weapon from a few years ago “summon a 1/1 beast w rush” if you have that, then play this, you can combo with what you pull out on turn 4 like alba and go play dead it or copy its deathrattle or so.
Its a great card and it will slow down the hunter decks. I see it played on turn 6+
This card shows promise for the Barrens expansion.
I’m looking forward to hitting the dream at 10 mana:
- Tavish
- Tame Beast
- Trampling Rhino
- Mok’Nathal (preferably something better from FitB)
- Zixor
- (random 2-drop with rush or charge from FitB)
- Boar
I DEMAND PENGUIN BACK IN STANDARD TO COMPLETE THE DREAM!!!
This could be terrifying in wild, though still a meme.
Interesting card i think its kinda good.
