3-cost 3/2 weapon
Doesn’t lose durability while you control a dragon
I think this will be strong, but I’m not sure how it will fit in current archetypes.

To slow I think,i can not imagine a deck that this will fit in.
A dragon deck obviously but you will take a lot of damage using this as a control tool, not to mention it is 1 turn to late to be truly efficient.
It’s a Hunter weapon (see the green border on the text), not a Shaman weapon.
It’s always a Hunter Weapon, isn’t it?
You are correct. Out Of Cards originally reported it as a Shaman weapon. I fixed the title.
This make the card far more interesting. An infinite durability Eaglehorn bow? Gimme!
Odd for a Hunter to wield a hammer though. Maces & hammers were more of a Shaman thing until now. It explains the mix-up.
And this also means we’ve now seen the full set of Hunter cards.
So, for Dragon Hunter, we’ve got this weapon, Primordial Explorer, Corrosive Breath, and Veranus as class cards from this expansion. Emeriss and Swamp Drake from previous expansions (well, just WW). Plus whatever Neutrals end up being available.
Yeah, it definitely looked a lot like a Shaman weapon. (And that’s what I was expecting it to be too.)
I guess that it’s meant as a reference to the Wildhammer Dwarves.
well… face is the place, and this is 3 to the face all day long so… i think that if “dragon hunter” becomes a thing, then this will certainly be a core part of it.
This isn’t a control tool, this is a hit-them-in-the-face tool. Many times. Over and over and over.
Definitely didn’t expect this to be a Hunter weapon. Man, they’re really going all out with these Dragon Synergies.
Emeriss shall rise again for the very first time!!
The old 2-mana War Axe was considered a superb weapon, and Eaglehorn bow was never much behind.
This is extremely powerful. Paying 3 mana for what is likely going to be 5 to 7 x 3 damage.
Looks good and all but I got a question; why is this a HUNTER weapon and not a SHAMAN weapon???
And yes, I know the ‘every weapon is a Hunter weapon’-joke, please spare me.
Thematically from fantasy perspective this makes no sense. Swarm of Locusts, which I thought was more fitting for Druid, is one thing. But this is a step further away from your typical Hunter fantasy if you ask me. They could’ve at least made it as a hunting spear/polearm Survival Hunters use in retail WoW.
They’ve also given Hunter a couple Gryphon-themed cards this expansion as part of the air battle thing they seem to be setting up. And Stormhammers are the weapons used by the Dwarven Gryphonriders in Warcraft and WoW. So, that’s probably where this comes from thematically.
Perhaps. But in that case they definitely gave a Shaman weapon to Hunter because Wildhammer Gryphonriders were essentially Shamans using powers of Lightning in their hammers, similar to Thrall wielding Doomhammer.
Ewww!
OP this card is SO bad!
Gross!
I’m feeling ill omg i’m feeling ill and may faint its ok.
Like devs, do you think hunters have a problem…dealing damage…or maybe they’re fine on the aggro-end of things…you know and always sorta have been.
We have 2x ways to be really-good-aggro, this awful stick doesn’t replace anything we’d jam already in mech/beast aggro hunter. How about all the people out there who experiment with not-meta hunter? Couldn’t you have used this epic slot to throw us a bone?
Something unique? Something not-3-mana, unless it’s insanely good, which this fails on both fronts 3 cost and it’s garbo. In total honesty, i’d rather run purify in wild hunter than this stick.
THAT’s how bad of a choice this was.
ANYTHING is better than this card lets put it that way.
No, mech hunter isn’t running this on-curve that’s for sure if at all.
Beast hunter absolutely isn’t running this in any way, that’s for sure.
No dragon-based hunter would ever run this since our precious lifetotal matters devs…we don’t have AoE w/o using 2+ cards, we don’t have open-draw, just restricted draw or nerfed-down draws plural since it happened more than once…we don’t have heal…we don’t have armor.
You give us a card that damages us, for meaningless 3 damage especially in wild…in an EPIC slot too?!
Hey devs lets check out a common wild matchup.
Secret Mage.
This card does…the mage a favor it damages us…it doesnt’ even have “your hero is immune” which THAT would actually make this card competitive.
Big Priest?
Infiltrator like loll’s at this, priests will gladly take that trade.
Demon Warlocks?
I heard this 3 damage thing is like fast-enough to get through gul-dan before taunts? No. its way too slow and weak.
Well Mage/Priest/Warlcok that’s 2/3’s of wild. This card doesn’t do anything that rex can’t already do better such as deal damage.
Worst waste of a card-slot I’ve seen since Wild Growth got nerfed to 3 mana.
Do you guys ever look at epics/legendary cards and think “how can we use these to open up classes to new playstyles?” Or do you think “how can we like fail bad and print some super u/p card in an Epic slot, for a class that has at least 5 weaknesses, that this does absolutely nothing to help any of them”.
-12 card
faith lost in dev team for understanding what makes hs fun…being creative…and this does nothing for deckbuilding / survivability / combos / discover / tutor / aoe / removal. it’s just straight up unplayable entirely In wild, to the max, and is so u/p it’s probably unplayable in standard.
-12 card again
faith lost in dev team
asking before hand what we’d like could of helped here…
Well, better craft it gold for the memes, because nobody is playin this junk and winning any matches that’s for sure, or doin something creative, it doesn’t even open up a new door. SMH for sure.
Excuse me, my vom bucket is full I have to dump it out next to a 2 cost flare.
Can u ask next time beforehand what we all would like? thanks.
Depends how good Dragon Hunter is.
And if it IS good, this card’s main purpose is hitting the opponent in the face. Coupled with hero power, it could seal games deceptively fast.
Dragon hunter isn’t going to outpace mech/beast hunter, its seriously impossible a this time.
So this card doesn’t hook up not-meta peeps with a tool to use, and it doesn’t buff up a not-meta dragon hunter deck to be-good-enough.
Rex can’t even heal, think about that.
Anything we hit with this stick is like…a risk.
I’ll stop and chill out but suuuuuuper disappointed devs.
you had an opportunity to give us something really different, and instead gave us a 3 mana 3/2 weapon that we all know are game losing plays unless they really hit a high synergy like f/e paladin’s 3 cost weapon buffing it’s Baku’d guys f/e.
nobody likes 3/2 weapons for 3, like that’s supposed to be a post-nerfed state.
Ugh this is like bad.
3 cost draw 2 cards
3 cost discover something
3 cost heal / armor
3 cost res
3 cost summon something different than normal
3 cost recruit
3 cost disruption
3 cost weapon WITH immune, so we don’t, you know die tryin to control things.
I mean ANYTHIN but 3 cost “deal damage to your opponent’s face, or lose if you touch things with it”.
Devs…this stick can’t even take down a Flamewaker on curve…for real?
It can’t even touch a 3/4 shaman totem if anyone still plays totem sham.
This stick doesn’t even do anything vs 4 silver hand recruits or 3 recruits + 1/1 taunt divine shield…
It can’t even kill a voidcaller…not that we’d want to w/o silence.
Silence…there’s an idea.
You could of given rexxar a 3 cost good-silence…you know…just a 10th idea of what to do with a hunter epic to promote not-meta…
I think ill cyber Monday a new vom bucket a bigger one after this.
peace
Yeah let’s be thankful Shaman or Rogue or Warrior didn’t get this knowing that they’ve got all the weapon buffs in the game to show for it.
If you can make a Dragon Face deck then this will be a part. As you curve out with Dragons you get an extra 3 face with weapon hold at least 1 durability. Compared to Eaglehorn Bow which the opponent has options to play around to deny extra charges. Also playing minions is usually better than more secrets. So if a SMOrc Dragon Hunter exists this will be a big part of why it works.
This card is SO bad!
What were they thinkin here this is crazy man!
Like who threw this dart at the dart board and it hit the wall at the annual thanksgiving holiday party at blizzard? Like they hit the room next door to the dartboard room, that’s how far off that throw was.
“Missed opportunity” - can you make that this “stormhammer” cards flavor text?
Or, “gl trying aggro w this card and the handful of dragons and not-mechs in your deck that this card requires”.
Like at least own up to it and admit it was super not what anyone wanted or what the class could use right? Thank u
