3 Mana: Choose a minion. Summon 4 1/1 bees that attack it.
Hilarious name aside, this synergizes extremely well with a lot of cards, especially the ones at Druid’s disposal. Cult Master, Dire Wolf Alpha, Floops’ Glorious Gloop, Witch’s Cauldron, etc. You can evven choose a 0-attack minion and just pay 3 mana to summon 4 1/1s, which is still really solid. At worst it’s a Shadowbolt, and removal is something that Druid could always use more of.
There are so many fun punish plays and small things you could set up.
This and the quest are starting to make me regret dusting all my Druid cards when I realized Token Druid was going to be the only decent Druid deck all expansion.
I loved playing Togglina and Hakkar Druid. Druids were a trickster class to me like Rogue and Priest.
This will be great for combo with overkill minions, or perhaps as emergency heals on Lifesteal minions. Also draw potential with Cult Master or Acolyte. So quite a flexible card outside attacking enemy minions.
I’m sure they will be, but I very much hope they aren’t. I don’t want them in my Witching Hour pool
Either way the card is absolutely ridiculous. Fun fact: if you target one if your own Overkill minions with it, you will trigger that Overkill 4 times. Overkill cares about whose turn it is, not who’s attacking. Alongside Linecracker, this leaves you with an 80/6. If Linecracker sticks with at least 5 health, Druids can one shot every deck in Standard.
It’s currently unclear exactly when the bees die, whether it’s one by one or all at the end like with Mass Hysteria, but if it’s one by one Ironhide Dire horn into BEEEEEEES!!! is a 10 mana play that leaves you with a 7/3 and 4 5/5s. Even if they all die at the end, you still get 2 5/5s
The card is absolutely ridiculous and makes me want to build some kind of Overkill Beast Druid (Beast for abusing Oondasta). I was already planning on playing Druid with this set (it’s been my favorite class since vanilla), this card makes me even more excited
I sadly don’t think this is true, cause the cases is where the minion is actually attacking/their animation goes out to attack in cases like Mass Hysteria
Again don’t believe this. Cause again the minion isn’t attacking, it just Defending , it’s not attacking, and overkill only trigger if the minion attacks, not when it Defends, this can be seen in Examples like Mass Hy. and Super C. , when they defend and don’t attack their ability don’t triggers, while on the other hand when they are force to attack their ability does trigger.
But if something is forced to attack your overkill minion via your own mass hysteria, it will trigger the overkill, so using BEEEES!!! On your own overkill minion should indeed trigger it 4x as the mechanic currently functions.
Now, that could be changed because of BEEEES!!!, but for now, it is a viable synergy. (Assuming you can target your own minions, but based on the wording, you can)
Liv (one of the devs) confirmed on Reddit that you can, you just need to have the space on your side fo the board for them, otherwise you’ll summon fewer bees.
That’s what I figured after the big convo about it on the discord. Makes sense.
This should also be testable against the “MH puts everyonr into attack mode” theory by having an opponent Priest play MH on their turn and seeing what your own Linecracker does.
