New Druid card: Overflow

Standard:
This is a good card that might help this style of deck find a good home. It’ll all depend on how the meta shakes-out and how prevalent Control Shaman (or Big) and Silence winds up needing to be but this certainly helps heal Druid a lot and, to be honest, I think Druid’s card reveal has been the best overall as almost all of the cards play well together (Elise, TBD).

Wild:
Well this, inmho, is the second best card for Wild we’ve seen so far and might be better than Plague of Murlocs. Honestly, this will bring back Combo Druid from the dead I think. You get more card draw, more sustain, and can even play out a different game into the OTK that’ll probably protect Druid better from Dirty Rat. I know what I’ll be revisiting in Wild soon… Malygod ./evilgrin

Okay, I’m one who always thought expensive draws were always overpriced; they get proportionally less benefit from discounts, usually eat the entire turn, and often take the place of a normal big drop.

Seeing multi-effect expensive draw kinda makes me happy. I hope they end up including stuff like this for other classes too.

But how? Druid played big stuff and had huge advandage of draw when he had ramping. Without ramping this is a dead card.
If i cannot have anything on the early rounds than why play this? To lose my 7th round as well or to simply play play Anubisath defender?
As for wild why play this when for 3 more mana you can go for ultimate infestation? Cause certainly you cant fit both in the same deck.

I think you can, 2x UI 1x Overflow.

You have a lot of potential hand dumping in Wild between the new Taunt and the Elemental with the same ability. I don’t think you can justify 2 overflow copies but maximizing card draw in Combo is always good and the amount of potential hand dump discounts + more draw makes this a good card for Malygod (or other Combo)

For a pure combo deck it may be advantageous to go 1 UI + 2 Overflow, just for the earlier opportunity to draw and the potential to dump more cards after drawing. The removal aspect of UI should not be as big a concern for a pure combo deck.

As a Druid main, this make me happy Maly Druid might return to a decent deck, but also with pressure plate hunter has a hard counter now vs maly druids

I can not help comparing this to UI and then this just does not look all that good.
7 mana to draw 5,no way to discount it and right now no decent ramp options in general either. Druid cant come back on board usually, can they afford to draw 5 for 7?. Maybe a token agro deck that is already ahead and needs a bit of damage to finish,i guess this could see play with lucentbark or token. Maybe combo in wild,in the end the draw is cheaper then with ui (and pretty cheap in general).

This would never see play in a wild druid combo deck.

If Druid is going to leave a mana crystal open until turn 6, it needs multi effect cards like this that are very card efficient.

At least druid will be able to really play something besides token druid after this is released. Problem is druid’s state of ramp I think is a little awkward for this card. Also what are we drawing to do, if not playing savage roar?

Might also be better than UI in a Jade Druid, now that we’re talking about it. The extra 5/5 and 5 damage from UI is definitely great, but is it necessarily better than being able to shuffle an Idol, then play two Idols? I can think of a few situations where a Jade Druid would love to shuffle, but has to do it on a separate turn from UI because of its mana cost.

And… I wouldn’t mind this for a Spiteful C’Thruid either, while we’re at it.

I’m another for the 1x UI, 2x Overflow team. Especially with the nerfs to ramp, this will probably be online at about the same time as pre-nerf (ramp) UI was on avg. which is a pretty big deal imo.

Or because classic set is supposed to be weaker.

Disagree. I know thats Blizzards stance, but the classic set SHOULD be the backbone of the (standard) game. It should cover things like, for example, a GOOD Priest AoE so they dont have to print a new one every year.

If the Classic set is supposed to be weaker than x-pacs, then it serves no purpose at all.

Another request for a rotational core set, before nerfs and HoF destroy it even further!

Well.

Good isn’t the top option for it.

If priest had something like excavated evil it would be enough.

And Sprint is enough to.

Compare this to nourish and scratch your chin.

Agreed. I am not saying, in this example, a Lightbomb, just Excavated Evil level. Holy Nova simply doesnt cut it, and Lightbomb is probably a bit too strong, as core set cards.

Nourish after quest completion is 4 mana draw 3 cards tho pretty decent aswell.

But as solo cards overflow is better for cycling yeah.

7 mana to heal everything for 5 is kind of meh, but drawing 5 cards is very strong. This card is strong on its own, but its all a matter of whether it finds a home. If Highlander Druid becomes an archetype, this card definitely seems like a solid fit. It might just be a good fit for Druid in general due to its power level.

Higher Cards that can cost 0 are always good.
