Three rune cards make it harder to print support as expansions either don’t follow an archetype by printing several different ones or go for one rune while another goes expansions without support. What I think is the solution is a lot more 2 rune cards so people have to make deck building choices for the 3rd rune, and then a couple triple rune cards at the end of each year when enough cards exist to make that possible (or more triple rune cards in core).
