Nerf to Secret Mage in wild: when?

Hey Blizzard, do you even read the forum? Mind if you nerf the 70-80% Secret Mage winrate or IksarHS loves the deck so much he’s fine with a broken deck?

Oh I forgot Control/ Attrition decks existed, sorry for my ignorance.

Sorry where are you getting the 80 percent win rate statistic? Secret mage is T2 at best, and is considered a fringe deck that is enjoying some success because it does well vs some popular (but weak) Meta options. It’s expected to crash once Meta settles.

Don’t point out the obvious, it’s intended to be a secret. Otherwise it wouldn’t be Secret Mage.

Read the thread title. Its very much T1 in wild, far from a “fringe” deck, and is not showing signs of “crashing” any time soon.

I’ve read elsewhere Secret Mage is some developers love child. I doubt it ever gets nerfed for that reason.

But how to do so?
I actually considered upping the cost of some of their minions.
Kirin Tor Mage and maybe Mediv Valet by both 1mana each. Slows down tempoplays in the early game. But am unsure if to much or not.

This again?

Hs Replays stats for people who don’t pay are for bronze to gold only, therefore are meaningless.

It is very beatable using other very strong decks in this meta. I’m playing Darkglare Warlock and I’m completely farming Mages.

I would suggest Standard balance is a much more pressing matter, and rightly so because… yikes that Paladin deck.

Have you been living under a rock? Secret mage is now easily tier 1, maybe even S tier due to rigged fair game, occult conjurer and Sayge.

The most annoying thing is that 50% of my games are against this braindead deck at d3-1

If you really want to nerf the deck increasing the cost of the secrets from 0 to 1 with the lackey, kirin and mystery is a good start.

If not enough make it so that 5 mana 4/4 can only target minions.

Never! it’s my favorite deck

In wild? Secret mage is easily tier 1.

Secret mage is not unbeatable. Everything in Wild is OP because that’s what Wild is.
If you want nerfs then play Standard.
Secret Mage isn’t broken. There is nothing in the deck that cannot be countered with armor, tech cards, heals, etc. Reno Priest can beat it. Same with Reno Lock. So can Warrior.
A powerful deck in Wild does not warrant nerfs. No one wants to play Standard 2.0.
Edit: i just auto lost to druid because he was able to play glow fly and then POW twice on turn 5 while I drew no removal.
The deck isn’t broken. Sorry you lose to it. Find another deck that counters it.
Second edit: Just lost to Leper gnome Hunter who out faced me.
The deck is powerful but being powerful is not a reason for nerfs in wild.

Just because you say the deck isn’t broken multiple times doesn’t mean you are correct. The deck has a pretty unfair advantage and it’s pretty obvious considering all the secret mages swimming at legend rank. Your bias is showing.

make kirin tor mage 3/3, kabal lackey 1/1 and conjurer 3/3. and make them reduce the cost of secrets to 1 not 0
there you go it’s tier 3 trash now as it deserves to be

Who cares if stats are for bronce or not. Honestly there is a lot of ppl playing about that rank and getting smashed by secret mage is pretty stupid and decks like that are the reason that ppl are rank “bronze”.When i see a mage i just simply concede cos i dont wanna play stupid trick called “miss the right secret on turn 3 and u lose”.And to no brain ppl who say if u dont like it play standard play arena play other game play this play that its better to not even comment and stay away from those threads cos those words are not helping anyone. Some ppl really just want enjoy wild and thats it.Secret mage is a big problem in wild for long time and its already enough

Oh look the guy who mains secret mage and who’ve only been able to climb with that deck says it’s not broken.

What a surprise.

Looking at HS replay from Diamond-Legend secret mage has the MOST recorded games of all (30k+) with the highest win rate.

The second best deck with most recorded games is Kingsbane rogue with only 7200 games and inferior win rate.

Who are you trying to fool ?

If wild Diamond-Legend is your guide, Mage is the strongest, but nine classes have at least one deck that is viable for climbing.

HSReplay best win-rate, by class, with 500 games played since Races.

  • DH 61%
  • Dr 59%
  • Hu 45%
  • Ma 66%
  • Pa 64%
  • Pr 59%
  • Ro 63%
  • Sh 57%
  • Wk 61%
  • Wr 58%

Secret mage should be nerfed not because of its win rate though.

It is so braindead and full of synergy that over 50% of games in wild are against secret mage.

Thats not fun for anyone to be playing against same decks over and over and over and over

VERY easy way to avoid secret mages in wild and that’s tech a secret eater into you deck. I 100% guarantee the blizzard algorithm will make sure you don’t play against one

Secret mage is powerful because of draw. Rigged Faire Game gives the deck consistent early draw and Sayge does the same in the late game.
One or the other (or both) should be adjusted.
Secret mage has been around for years in Wild and while good, it was never a problem until the draw became more powerful.
The cards that should be nerfed are Standard cards that allow the deck to draw so quickly and reliably.

aggro fanboys defending six 0 mana cards, draw 20 cards and 4 mana 8/8s in 3,2,1…

edit: secret mage is now considered an aggro deck btw… in case you are confused.
