It’s not possible to be precise, they try to be roughly helpful. This game appear to roughly help for Standard when they patch.
Precise? In what context? Precise enough to do what?
It’s impossible for experts to predict within 2% winrate at T1KL before an expansion actually comes out. That’s an entire tier worth of winrate shift. You can’t do real balance adjustments ahead of time when you can’t distinguish between Tier 1 and Tier 2.
And again, that’s not their fault, it’s IMPOSSIBLE.
It can never be perfect because it’s impossible to predict in a theoretical model the ratios of playrate of the decks before even talking about predicting the decks or predicting the skills. But they could make reasonable assumptions that help. I think they could even employ simulation but both methods are hard to implement well.
It’s completely bizarre to me that people drop $60-$80 regularly on this game. I guess do you but there’s objectively better games to invest in that don’t make you want to throw your phone.
It truly is.
There are games out there, where the customer genuinely matters, and players are happy to support them because the developers are actively engaged with their community.
Blizzard, on the other hand, is a shell of its former self with lifeless robots going through the motions, pretending to love their work without even understanding what real passion is.
These days, Blizzard is one of the worst companies to give your money to.
You had better just burn the cash.
They don’t.
95% of Hearthstone players are completely free to play. Maybe on social media you’ll have two weirdos run into each other and back up what they both do, but social media is designed to take cherrypicked examples of extreme opinions and put a spotlight on them; it’s an inherently radicalizing medium. Social media by design warps your perception of normal, and spending big money on Hearthstone is NOT normal.
How do you know that?
I know that the industry wide number for free to play mobile games is 98%. Only 2% of free to play game players spend anything at all. From there, I’m assuming that Hearthstone is at most 2.5 times better than average.
Edit: “industry wife” is kinda a funny typo
Exactly why MS made it a TOP priority to get back into the Chinese market with HS.
I’m still curious what got them so upset with China to leave that market so abruptly. The official response was over money but i find it hard to believe considering how much they left on the table from leaving the market.
Did the Chinese clean that up that thoroughly?
What happened was a relatively low-level representative of Blizzard in China spoke out publicly against the CCP. (Think like official Discord mod level — small enough to basically be a random nobody, large enough to completely destroy a game like Godot Engine.) As a result, Blizzard received a ban from practicing business in the country, and Blizzard’s Chinese sponsor company, NetEase, was fined. Apparently the ban wasn’t permanent.
I had not heard that before. Interesting but not surprising in the least bit.
That problem in china everything run by CCP so have kissed but do business, I really don’t see why want to do business their in first. You say one wrong thing and government can do what want your business. That’s why a lot of companies are moving other country and biggest is Mexico now. China has so many ghost cities built no one every live in around the whole country.
Just look up china GOP it worst then US. So don’t see blizzard make money like before in market because everything so costly in china now.
