My second game as Control Priest

Guess what I faced? Control Warlock. Destroyed them. All I needed to do was play tempo and put them on the back foot. Lul

Wow you won 1 game and probably against someone playing the deck type equally as bad. I ran into a priest playing “control” against my priest deck which is more value and tempo than control and he kept ignoring my board and going face and then having the audacity to rage at me upon losing. It’s pretty apparent when people who have no idea how to play control are playing it meanwhile if you try to use any brain power while playing aggro you screw yourself over(meaning you need to shut off your own brain to play it). But hey keep playing it long enough and you’ll either realize how wrong you are or lie about your games.

I’m now at 100% win rate vs warlock as priest.

Oh man, those warlocks never see my deck coming. It’s great!

And no, I’m not lying. :yum:

How many games versus warlock that you’ve won is that now? :grinning:

With my new deck since I was last telling the forums that I was trying to find an answer to warlock?

I’m 4-0 against warlock now. And when I say I’m 4-0, I don’t mean I got lucky. It was a blowout win for me. Which is proof enough that the 85%-100% win ratio Control Warlock has/had over my Priest and Priest in general doesn’t hold sway over my deck any longer. In fact, I find the matchup to be my funnest matchup now!

AND, my deck does incredibly well vs the rest of the meta. I smash Demon Hunter decks to pieces (although OTK Weapon Lifesteal Demon Hunter can be a problem) and I smash Paladins and Hunters. The only thing that gives me problems is Token Druid if they get on board fast. I think Token Druid is my only negative win rate just because I have to draw well if the Druid draws well and druid draws way faster.

I’m incredibly pleased with the deck. It’s a shame I’ve been away for 2-3 months so I have no bonus stars so I have to slowly work my way up the ladder. But most everyone is running the meta decks. I need to get to diamond/legendary to really put it to the test.

Either way, warlocks are super fun and really easy to beat now. There is a very distinct counter that favors Priest. In fact, when I beat warlocks, I usually fatigue them or they are down to their last 2-3 cards. Imagine that!

I am incredibly pleased with my rogue control deck, just beat another warlock 10-0.

As a fellow player who loves playing Rogue as control, this makes me very happy!

As a warlock vs priest, I hard mulligan for tickatus/jarraxus, and if I get either out on/close to curve it’s game over, straight up.

Past 4 priests I played as control lock was me just controlling the board, blasting out tickatus and finishing the value game with jarraxus.

If you’re beating warlocks they’re probably running some bad/trendy deck, whereas a more standard tickatus/jarraxus deck has a MASSIVELY favored win rate. I think around a week ago trump reviewed it around 20% win rate or so, and not much has changed to either class since.

Did they play Malicia on curve? That’s the only cards I am afraid of in slow Warlock.

I played against one who, with me having 2 Phoenixs popping the next turn (at 9 mana), still tapped at 23 health. Such scandalous BM! Such disrespect!

In retrospect I guess it didn’t matter. 23 health VS 21 when your opponent does 28 from hand kills you the same way.

Nope, sorry. Not the case with my deck. I wish I could face warlocks all day long with my priest. I’d be legend #1 if I could face nothing but warlocks.

So…what do you vs losing ten cards in your deck/Jarraxus constant flow of 6/6s?

The stats show horrible win rates of control priest vs control control warlock and you’re either 1. Trolling, 2. Wood league, 3. Delusional.

Unless you explain how you overcome tickatus/y’sharraj/jarraxus, ya got nothin.

I can do more than explain, I can show you actual matches. Would you like to see?

What if I told you that I fatigue the warlock themselves?

out of how many games? one?

You had my curiosity.

But now you have my attention.

So far with this new set up, 5.

I’m 5-0

But first, I’d like Xombo to agree to say sorry for the comment:

If I post matches that prove my claim.

And if he doesn’t…I’d always share my matches upon your request lol

If you’re beating warlocks as a priest they’re either terrible or had bad draw. Like control warlock is literally the counter to priest.

You still haven’t answered my question as to how you counter tickatus/y’sharraj/jarraxus if they draw them.

Again, you’re wrong. It doesn’t matter if they get Tickatus off or not. I put so much pressure on the warlock and force them to use removals that they just run out.

I told you I would answer your question with matches, but you didn’t answer.

So, instead, I’ll show you.

https://hsreplay.net/replay/Q9kqGbJrBq3WmxFoiiAP49 - Here I win by Yshaarj/Clowns again (This is the ultimate win condition by running him out of removals)
https://hsreplay.net/replay/4GXrHEEPaZwduMpmFFCA9V - Here I win by fatigue and running him out of removals
https://hsreplay.net/replay/pP7ZxEGuTV8SYU5WMVf4RL -Fatigue again, he must concede as I ran him out of removals.

Different variants of Warlock. Control Warlock might be the counter to CURRENT PRIEST DECKS, but it’s not a counter to mine. The only way a control warlock can win is if they hit both my N’zoth and my Y’shaarj. You can see in one of those games I don’t even play them all.

My stats do not lie and my games don’t lie. My priest deck counters them plain and simple.

I thought you were trolling because of OP’s obvious attempt to get a rise out of Control players, but no, you actually beat some Warlocks with ridiculous late game.

My only suggestion is maybe a Darkmoon Rabbit to more easily corrupt the Clowns, as well as a good beast for N’Zoth.

Otherwise, nice homebrew man.

Thanks. Moonfang and Scorpid are good hits for N’zoth. Also, my pirates allow me to grab opponent minions to fill in the blank. Rabbits are too slow and hurts the curve against aggro.
