My manifesto to a player (community forum) on Blizzard, The Universe, and everything

Well said. I am not a Socialist. I am a humanist.

Why did you write a manifesto for the community forums in the multiplayer forums?

Also your title is misleading. There is no Neil Degrasse Tyson universe stuff in here.

Urza was speaking about Right Wingers. Not “Socialists”, as you like to call us.
And being compassionate to others and placing that ethic before greed is not Socialist. It’s humane.

It’s evolved.

This myth of rugged individualism that runs through our nation is going to be the death of it.

So many people completely ignore the fact that our economic system literally only works because of public infrastructure.

Without highways, airports, ports of entry - all funded by public money - none of this capitalism works like it does now. Amazon isn’t a thing without all of these pieces, but they they object when asked to pay a large chunk of the cost to maintain the mechanisms for their profits. It’s insanity.

You can believe in profit and capitalist systems while still understanding that no one lives in a vacuum, we are quite literally all living in the same closed system.

I merely shared it here. I actually responded to a player in the community forums and then deleted it and shared it here as I see Blizzard’s actions having similarities with practically every aspect of today’s Capitalism.
These things affect every single player, and I felt that would make for a thought provoking discussion.

I’ll agree that this game wouldn’t make it if they charged an up-front fee. The original Warcraft 3, Diablo, Diablo 2, Starcraft, and Starcraft 2 were worth the money. The versions of Diablo 3 that have an offline mode seem good too. This game constantly uses its entire playerbase as beta testers.

For me the situation is pretty cut and dried. I will exhaust my gold and then quit. I have already begun looking for a game that I can play for an hour a day while having my breakfast.
LOR is generous, but it isn’t really for me as the game comes with a bit of a learning curve.
And; I am feeling a bit burned by so called CCG’s in general, so I’ll probably just invest in a new gaming mouse and go back to POE.

Socialism is an economic system that has yet to be even tried in the U.S. Capitalism reigns supreme, and good luck changing it while the Plutocracy has such a hold on our government.

Communism is a form of government, to each according to their needs, and those needs are decided by the government. Bad doggy.

Socialism is nothing like Communism. Socialism is about making economics work for everyone.

There are huge artificial structures on the moon. It may even be hollow. Neil would most likely disagree with both assertions above.

There isn’t much in Douglas Adams’ books either, to be honest.

Except corporate socialism is working great in the US. The rich who are the beneficiaries of all that corporate socialism are surviving 2020.

Contrast this to the masses who are indeed left to fend for themselves under rugged individualism and capitalism. They’re the ones struggling the most.

Preach. Funny how the other side never mentions that Corporate Welfare is the biggest outlay/revenue loss of tax dollars and has been since Reagan.

We are in Overwatch Territory.{they will fix it or the game will die.} However unlike Overwatch there won’t {most likely } sequel to Hearthstone. Realistically I can have hearthstone on in the background while watching a Youtube video and gain more experience than playing the actual game.

It’s tragic and ironic that cancelling all student debt and the last tax cut have almost the same price tag, isn’t it?

And the worse part is that USA is non ironically one of the countries in the best situation regarding social equality(or atleast best than most countries).

Just come to brazil (were I live) and you would be shocked .
While the country itself is rich I would say that most people are literally near the starving line and you can’t really do anything about it unless you want to join them due to how absurdly corrupt it is.

It would be hilarious if it wasn’t real.

It’s most likely a country were predative capitalism just have nothing to chase anymore.
