My dust just disappeared!

Ok, I’m pretty freaked. Pre expansion I had approx 50k dust. Now I have 8k. I havent crafted anything…!! By the looks of similar topics this is a known bug. What is Blizzard like at identyifying these issues and reimbursing? Have lodged a ticket already.

And are those topics in the room with us right now ?

There are no such topics anywhere, you’re just lying

So some time ago the internet invented this thing called Google. When you put words in it (such as my dust went missing without crafting), all these links come up describing people’s experiences. It’s amazing, you should try it.

Alternatively, you could follow Blizzard’s OWN site here:

I’ll help and quote Blizzard’s own words for you:

“Common Problems: Nothing created but dust is gone.”

These are words that are explaining that losing dust without crafting cards is a common problem. From Blizzard themselves…on their own site…

Hope that helps.

common problem doesn’t mean common bug
The post you linked is just aggregating the most common type of complains from players for them to find a (debatable) answer
They are not acknowledging a malfunction in the game

I can pull out 30 topics in this very forum about shuddreblock being bugged and not allowing face damage from the tripled battlecry
This would be a common problem met by players
But the cause is their inability to read the entire card text explicitely indicating that the tripled battlecry will not deal face damage
Shuddreblock has been released 4 months ago, the last report is 3 hours old, and that’s still not a bug

Perhaps people are commonly unable to absorb card text sometimes.

But if they dont do anything at all, such as “Nothing created” (read crafted), and yet “dust is gone”, and this is a “common problem” that Blizzard are aware of…
Well, this seems to bare little similarity to your example.

What are we saying? Everyone forgot? Lied? Well, if thats the case then just check their accounts using server-side tools and that will be obvious. Future complaints from them can be treated with a pinch of salt.

Let’s take my experience as an example. I am missing approx 42k dust. Are we suggesting that I somehow crafted 26 legendaries one day without noticing that I had done so? That’s absurd. This is someone who middle aged, noone knows their login, doesn’t play on anywhere but EU, and doesn’t drink!

Just check the account and prove I’m mistaken or making it up. If they don’t investigate the account AT ALL, and just assume people are mistaken or lying…

This is not the definition of CUSTOMER SERVICES!

It’s well known on this forum that the customer service is pretty terrible
Checking your account ? They can’t. It’s been claimed that they don’t have the history of dust usage, which mean they wouldn’t be able to differenciate an actual bug to a bad usage

Support will redirect you to the forum
The forum is a dead end for individual cases

The only way for things to move is if several other people report the same thing as you
Thus my question at first in this topic since there’s no other report of it in sight on the forum

Sure, but I’m paying them money.

I also play a game designed in 1999 on an emulator. The code is the same code used in 1999. In that game, you can submit a /petition when items are stolen or go missing from your account. They are able to go back through your logs, identify any errors and reimburse you the lost items by putting them back in your account/inventory.

The game is free. I pay them nothing for playing.

If they are unable to provide such a service for a paying game, is it because it makes Customer Service easier for them? Is that the only reason?

I had the same exact thing happen to me too. Ur not crazy. I had about 50k dust and after the expansion is was down to 8k as well. The fact that your numbers are so similar to mine does make me think there was some kind of glitch or something. I’m not sure if Blizzard can do anything but it sure does suck.

Have you got your dust back? I encountered a similar problem to yours: over 30% of my un-disenchant total dust was gone, and I didn’t craft any cards.

what is un-disenchant dust ?

Go to “My collection”, then click ‘Crafting’ in the right corner. It will show the total amount of dust you can get from disenchanting extra cards.

if a refund is up, the amount is high, once refunds go away, the amount goes down

What do you mean when you say “if a refund is up”? I submitted a ticket to Blizzard support and was told by a GM to create a post here to address the issue. They haven’t refunded me anything yet.

Normally, when you disenchant a card, you get a lot less dust than it would cost to craft that card. One-quarter as much, if I remember correctly.

But when Blizzard decides that a card is too powerful and they change it to be less powerful, that card may be disenchanted for its full dust crafting value for the next two weeks or so.

That is what he meant by “refund is up”.

I know that when a card gets nerfed, players receive a full refund of the dust. However, the amount of dust that LordOfButter and I are missing is abnormal.

I don’t know why they would tell you that.

Nobody in this forum has the ability to look into your account and restore your lost items.

The only benefit to posting in this forum is that it might, eventually, lead to this bug getting fixed so that it does not happen to other players in the future.

But even if that happy day arrives, it will not restore your lost items.
