I love thematic decks, namely ones that focus on a single tribe. Murlock falls into this category. Murlocs are fun and funny. Murlocs have a strong synergy, but one that is currently too weak. I find I’m unable to kill druids fast enough to avoid their lategame plays. I also find I am bested at throwing buffed minions down than, say, Buff Paladin. And I don’t believe there are any Murlocs that can close the deal as a lategame win condition.
I’m frustrated here. I’m by means a skillful pilot. However, I do have access to HSREPLAY premium and so can see that more skillful pilots than myself are not having any luck with this deck either. Warlock being my main class, it’s very upsetting that for all I’ve put into maintaining a full standard warlock collection is essentially moot at the moment.
And so, at last, I am very much advocating for buffs to this specific archetype. I believe it’d be the healthiest of warlock decks, as opposed to, say, Curse Warlock or Mill Warlock. I’m not a game designer and so won’t push any specific buffs here. Nevertheless, this deck certainly needs them to be at all viable.
For what it’s worth, here’s my current Murlock list. The idea is to play aggressively of course, and rely on dredging colossals if necessary using Ambassador Faelin. This is clearly unreliable, sadly. Very fun when it works, though has no consistency. Open to critique and advice here.
