Perhaps, but I probably failed to make clear a point: PvE content like Book of Heroes and Book of Mercenaries is not even fun to do once, which makes it horrible to repeat. Also, the rewards are simply not worth the time investment and aggravation. I have not even done most of that content on my main account for those reasons.
Now if I refuse do such content to earn additional to packs to develop my collections for Constructed Modes, then how likely am I to spend cash to do so? This is something for devs to consider as they try to incentivize players to invest into Wild and Standard.
When creating PvE content, the devs should be asking questions like:
1). Are most players going to have fun or be entertained while doing it?
2). Are the rewards worth the time investment?
3). Will the content be fun enough that it’s worth repeating for players that play on multiple regions?
The above criteria is very important for prologue content which gate-keeps new classes and cards from being available, especially, for players who play constructed on multiple regions. Well, it’s only important if you want players to spend cash to assist with developing those regions, which they are not likely to do, if they will not even take the time to complete the PvE content to unlock rewards for constructed.
Gate-keeping DKs from being available from Arena until a player does the prologue makes little sense to me, but it might end up being an advantage for me for several of my accounts, since DKs seem to have a “clunky” play style, and I can avoid playing them over classes that I find more favorable to play.
I have not even played against a single DK in arena yet, despite having played over 25 matches across 9 accounts (3 actual accounts, but on all 3 regions), which has me wondering if I will ever play against a DK in Arena before I complete the prologue? That’s something to contemplate.
Edit: After about 10 more Arena matches today, I finally encountered an opponent playing a DK on an account that I had not done the prologue.
