More time for later turns

I’d like to see more time allowed for later turns. There is so much discover, draw, deathrattle/rush, evolve, random spells from yog, ect. Can we get 5-10 seconds more to think for turns passed turn 5? Or add 1 second for every action played. Something like this. Maybe someone else can think of a better calculation. Turn five gets 5 more seconds, turn six 6 more and so on. Anything helps. Thanks

No need.

Games can already extend to 40+ minutes (which fortunately, happens only in the arena right now)

Some of us play all our turns in less than 10 seconds and when we play against ropers, it seems like we’re staring at a wall instead if playing

If you need more time while you learn the cards and strategies, install a tracker and watch replays after games to analyze everything

Its a good idea to do that anyway

I believe We used to have a longer rope that many complained about until they shortened it.

Unfortunately, mobile does not have a tracker. I don’t own a PC.

That is more than long enough. For me, because it’s also an unfavorable matchup, Warriors are autoconcede because it is so dang boring.

I wish I could speed up turns, heh.

There’s too much time per turn as it is lol

I disagree. The time is needed for many.
Deliberation is a skillset that requires time to think.
Unless We dumb the game down, the time is essential.

Mark would love this. Some of his combos have been severely hindered by the turn timer.

This has been suggested many times, with good ideas on variations of pooled time for each player.

The reality is they won’t make any money on it so they don’t care. Adding more deck slots probably added a few kB of data storage on every profile, so they refused to add it for many years.

Yeah that’s what I’m talking about. There’s just certain games where you have so many discovers, animations, draws, and whatever else to get through. You’re playing one card after another but you can’t finish your turn. Maybe even add in seconds per action like they do in chess. Every action/card gives you more time. I dont mind waiting 10 seconds longer in later turns. Most turns you dont need extra time but once in a while you really need it.

Hmm, being a fast player, I’ve never thought about it that way. If anything, I struggled to wait for my moves, lol

But now that I see the struggles of control mobile phone players, maybe they could add “Time bank”, like in poker - everyone has additional 30 seconds they can use per game as/if they see fit

They just click the little button somewhere on the UI and it starts counting down. When you finish your move, you get to keep the rest of your Time bank and carry it until you spend all or until the game is over.

Not sure why you laugh at people again; not everyone plays the same warlock deck 24/7; it depends on the deck.

E.g. a deck that routinely Evolves the entire board of at least 7 minions can produce a lot of complexity.

Also Yogg can conjure complexity; some rogues have high APM; some decks keep Discovering etc.

Trust me, as a Highlander Shaman player there are turns where yog takes a minion, random spells are cast, discover pops up from stolen titan, muck pools evolves into a rush minion, cheese yields a rush minion, extra cards are drawn from yog, and so on. It just gets to be too much. I’d like to calmly think about what I want to do rather than be frustrated that the last card didnt get played.

So think calmly, but faster

Time controls in Hearthstone are abhorrent, especially because on key turns you are liable to get locked out due to animations, even if you aren’t playing an APM deck.

Probably 5 years ago, I’ve literally never lost a single game due to running out of time on my turn, even playing what was considered an APM deck back then (for example classic miracle rogue.)

In modern Hearthstone, I’m frequently locked out of my turn due to animations and their sequencing. some animations take absurdly long to complete and god help you if you discover after initiating an animation sequence. You will probably run out of rope if you are on mobile.

There’s many things that aged poorly on Hearthstone, but at the top of my list are

  • RNG and generation effects out of control
  • power creep unchecked for years
  • animations caused by said card generation and power creep locking players out of their turn on key turns

Those three points above are coupled. We wouldn’t be needing that much more time per turn to deal with absurd animations if power creep was not left at 11, etc.
