I just wasted 450g to get wiped by veteran players all 6 losses in a row.
How do I know they’re vets? They play the perfect response to whatever I play.
It’s like they’re just making up what they need on the spot.
*I know that’s not possible, that’s just how it feels when they shut me down every single move, every single time.
I can at least get somewhere in Ranked Wild, and did halfway decent in Arena before the changes. Since after Arena change I lost every game in a row. Not even worth the gold to make an attempt anymore.

The MMR is new. Of cause it doesn’t reflect your (or your opponents) skillevel yet. We all started at the same number and now we gain MMR for winning and lose it for losing. Unfortunately that means pros and noobs will be matched against each other.

If it is about Arena, it could be another / additional reason. In the last few days I often heard from average players that they are leaving Arena because the new reward system is too bad for them and they will lose too much gold with their average level of victories.
When there is no grass in the field, herbivores leave. When herbivores leave, predators first eat each other (and everyone who dares to enter their territory) and then die out.

Arena isn’t 100% MMR based. It uses MMR to smooth matching. It still goes mainly by current Arena Win-Loss record. Also the MMR is new so its entirely possible you matched into experience Arena players just starting from base MMR because it’s their first time playing since the update.
If you are suggesting they must be veteran players because of how good their deck is, they could just be using an addon to help them draft a better deck. New players can do this.
The other option that you are suggesting is that they are veteran players because they chose to play the 1 card in their hand that perfectly countered your board. It doesn’t take an experienced player to do this either. All they have to do is understand what the card does and if it perfectly countered your board, chances are their other potential plays were quite obviously worse.
Regardless, play as long as you are having fun. If arena is no longer fun for you just ignore it for a while. As others have already suggested, it could take a little while for the MMR of players to get sorted out.
That feeling you get from certain matches where the opponent is discovering/drawing perfect answers is a testament to the debauchery and rigging that is taking place. Sometimes it’s so obscene i will just concede it they do it two turns in a row (as surely the rest of the turns are going to follow suit with a 1/1,000,000,000 card being played)
Yesterday i played arena as rogue and i found myself needing hp for some reason against the 5 deathknights in a row i faced. They all did so much damage to my face while staying healthy and board controlled. But i had done it 3 times, discovering a lackey with dark gift lifesteal + his lackey gives him rush + free lifesteal. 3 times. Same game.
They can’t keep the game from crashing every 5 minutes, and you think there is rigging.

I think this applies to the underground mode. The baby arena requires only 2 wins to get fair returns, while the underground mode requires 5.
So, if you’re not fighting for the leader board, baby arena is actually a good place to spend tickets when a new expansion launches.
I really doubt the MMR matching though? On average, you should be 2 wins if that works.
No, it can’t be called fair, bc Arena players want gold to keep playing Arena. Packs has no meaning for some of them bc they don’t play in the standard and wild modes at all and packs are not as useful as gold even for ppl who play in those modes.
You see they are idiot savants. When it comes to rigging they are super giga brain geniuses but everything else they are incompetent buffoons.
That’s for “arena only” players, which doesn’t contribute much to the HS revenue (Blizzard of course don’t favor these type of players).
For players that play both ranked and arena, it’s good value, especially for good players.

Note to posters about the NEW ARENA. When you post. You need to let us know if you are in the Regular 5 win Arena or the Underground. The reason is that match making in each one is COMPLETLY different and makes a difference.

and especially
it is better to play brawls.
And even if they decide to play Arena to get packs at the start of the expansion instead of playing brawls before the start to get packs sooner, Arena will be giga dead between expansions.
If you spent gold to play Arena, my suggestion is to stop.
Arena is a mode where veteran players of Arena prey on all other players in order to continue playing arena for “free”.
Arena is predatory and is there purposefully to milk you of your gold. Always has been.
Unless you enjoy losing gold, stop playing.

anyone who wants to play just arena can do it on 3 different regions if they farm exp they can dedicate all the gold to arena
I had no doubt to do 3 arena runs a day before the revamp, without too much gold losing.
But now, it’s impossible.
So yes, maybe i need to stop playing arena with this system reward atm.
