Only counts as 1. Its “smart”, it wont be a dragon if a dragon is already in the pool, but its still only counts as 1.
The card is smarter than Blizzard’s balance team wink-wink
All the recent warrior cards just seem to say to me … arena deck lol
Just run good tempo minions on a lowish curve. Aggressively curve out but do make value trades as your win condition - such as it is - is the old fashion “win board, go face”
-if the minions have tribes you can get menagerie synergy
-if in process of winning board they get damaged, you have enrage synergy
-new legendary fire spell buffs your arena deck in the late game (if you somehow can afford to play it on 5 well you’re probably winning already and it may be a win more card)
-heck fires of zin-ashari can be a hail mary
-occasionally you do get disruption/utility with grandshield or shield breaker
Earlier we had filler neutrals for the arena. Now we have a filler class. Noice
I’m dying to hear some insight as to why Razorfen Rockstar wasn’t an effect that occurs for the rest of the game for the warrior. I mean it’s not like Druid couldn’t get FAR more and vastly easier armor.
Power Slider should be a 1 mana 1/3 to even be playable and even that is a stretch.
Drum soloist straight up should be 4 mana with that kind of restrictions.
It would actually make a cool legendary for Warrior.
Yo, that list style is

How did you do that? Which website?
This entire warrior set is an unmitigated disaster. Literally none of the cards are viable.
Rifts - Basically worse version of Relics with 0 payoff with a Xymox-type card and they don’t get better as the game goes on.
Razorfen Rockstar - Possibly the only salvageable card, if Armorsmith wasn’t rotating out…It’s a 1-drop that you need, a minimum, of 3 mana to do anything with.
Roaring Applause - As a previous posted summed it up, a worse, worse version of Imp-ending Catastrophe.
Power Slider - How the hell do you print a worse version of Rhyme Spinner…IN THE SAME EXPANSION?!
Rock Master Voone - Good luck surviving long enough to get any payoff from this.
Blackrock ‘n’ Roll - Complete joke of a card. Minus 5 stars. There is no reliable way for warrior to tutor this out. Then you have the problem of “How many cards are under-statted for their cost?” Is it really worth skipping a turn so a 5 mana 1/1 becomes a 5 mana 5/5?!
Drum Soloist - Too expensive and relies on you having 0 board control to get its effect.
Honestly, they should’ve same themselves the trouble, not printed any warrrior cards and just given warrior the Ungoro quest for standard.
Right?! I was surprised myself.
I used the builder from hearthstone top decks’ webpage. I couldn’t get a proper copy-paste link so I just mouse click & drag to select the entire list and turns out pasting that into the forum’s textbox also adds the nice little thumbnail pictures on the side. It only needs a tiny bit of rewriting for clarity’s sake and voilá. Nice fancy trick I discovered accidentally.
I think another reason why warrior is being neglected is that the class popularity is very low most of the time. Some classes like mage or rogue for example are usually popular with the general playerbase even during metas when they only have weak decks. A class like warrior is dumped as soon as it only has weak decks like what is happening and is only popular mostly when the strong deck it has is very simple such a pirate warrior. a couple of years ago when handbuff rush warrior was consistently atleast top tier 2 the deck never really became popular and the class as a whole was underplayed even though it had good decks. At this point i think the current developers incompetency cannot save the class anymore as the cards being printed are just all over the place thats why i believe they should be replaced. As opposed to a class like hunter where most packages it gets synergize with existing cards so its easy to create various hunter decks or slot in new cards to existing decks.
When most of 2022 to present has warrior as the lowest win rate class in both standard and wild it is a sign that the overall card quality and power level of the class is very weak, which clearly shows that the development team is purposely keeping warrior as a weak class which Cora also confirmed that they the development team have been keeping the class weak on purpose.
I have an unpopular opinion.
I agree that the cards here are trash or at best might see play if they find synergies in non menagerie decks, I actually think control warrior is going to dominate.
People forget that control warrior is trash in today’s meta because of OTK, specifically mine warlock, and to some degree the cheese of quest druids astalor, however the latter is much easier to counter.
Remove a lot of the otk in the meta, and control warrior will easily have a top performing deck in today’s format (ie t1.)
I may be wrong, but with core rotating, all the terrible otk decks are leaving the format (especially mine warlock.) This means that warrior is a contender for a top meta position.
Also, warrior is one of the best classes to use jailor in, and AFAICT, jailor will likely play a significant role in the next expansion.
So don’t discount warrior just yet.
Are you sure you don’t just mean Blood DK? What does Warrior have, in control tools, that Blood DK doesn’t have? Blood DK control right now will be 10x the power Control Warrior could ever dream of being.
Everything you listed were things that Blood DK also suffered from that will no longer have to compete against.
However, there is still OTK decks going to be present in the meta. If they are even halfway decent, that will put Control Warrior and Blood DK back down to garbage tier.
I actually played a decent amount of control warrior this month in the 500ish range but didn’t make much progress. I do recall the blood dk mu and it was favorable for warrior, mostly because the warrior build is centered around otk as well, just an awful, slow otk.
Control warrior actually plays like something like a freeze mage (a lot of it is about stalling) with a combo win condition (charge finish) or if the meta allows for it an attrition finisher like jailor. The latter is usually only playable in a really narrow meta (like top 100). People underestimate the power of stalling, freezing an enemy board for one turn tends to be much stronger than clearing a board in today’s Hearthstone, since it exploits the 7 minion limitation, which given the level of power creep today is a much harsher limitation than having to refill your board every turn.
So, while definitely not a top tier deck, it was playable, and had some great upsides like you didn’t have to be too concerned about miracle rogues blowing you out turn 4 or 5.
Though as I’ve said, dieing to other otk decks consistently is a major problem for control warrior, if you remove that, control warrior can easily push into t1 in today’s meta.
Yes, but that Warrior deck loses pretty much everything. Blood DK, literally loses nothing…unless you want to count Brann, but who wasn’t losing that?
Blood DK can only go UP in play after this because it only looks to gain more power, while Control Warrior is losing practically everything. The only hope Control Warrior has right now is to just turn into Tony Warrior. It’s beyond dead.
You are. I’ve already mentioned that control warrior is losing most of his tools with rotation.
Warriors new keyword; Rework
Location? Didn’t the location solved the problem?
What’d you come up with? I couldn’t even begin to think of a deck so I’m wondering what you slotted in and your reasoning. I want to try and see what it is the devs are seeing that we aren’t.
The All tag is like an Ace in Blackjack. It can be different things but it can’t be all of them at once.
The list is embedded in the post you replied to. If you click the arrow where it says “Concede warrior” it should come up.
It’s probably not a great list tho, but it is the best I could come up with that features the new stuff. I just threw in a bunch of cheap tempo menagerie minions with some higher cost payoff cards to benefit from the legendary spell and the riffs’ buffs and help finishing off the game. The totem is likely a cut, would probably swap it for whatever weapon they reveal tomorrow.
I didn’t even bother with the 5 mana soloist because it’s really bad.
